Been a great summer for Australia, we won the ASHES

It’s all that matters
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Woeful performance last night

apart from Marsh and Head our batting was pathetic, followed up by a very average bowling performance

Really? We should be winning all things cricket and taking every competition seriously with the money and resources we throw at it. Why even send a team if we're not there to win, and I believe we have the cattle to win.

A gold medal in a 100m sprint bears the same value as a gold medal in the marathon...................or even archery for that matter.

At the end of the day yep, the Ashes were the priority.
I think the T20 WC is pretty low on our list, its like they deliberately don’t care about it

CA have the Harvey Norman factor with T20, like the fans. Interest free.

Serious question, what money and resources?

What I see is a scheduled that revolves around the BBL which are pitches deliberately designed not to spin or take seam, which allows batsman to freely swing to create entertainment for the viewing public.

If we were serious about the World Cup, we'd schedule it to follow the BBL (tick!), but have something in it for the bowlers, so that they can acclimatise to the conditions we'd expect in the World Cup - especially knowing where it's been held. We've done none of that at all. The BBL is a standalone competition which does nothing to prepare those players for these conditions.

Australia will say it's taking T20 seriously but it's not.

Losing patience in all forms of the game with Green.
He’s not in any of my teams going forward
Needs to go back to state cricket and earn his spot

Checked the score at my 1:30am piss, was nearly the end of the Aus innings 170odd the score, headline on cricket.com.au was Renshaw out so I thought Smith got a gig and made a few.

Why fly Smith over there only to let him have a front row seat to watch us get eliminated?

The BBL would be a fair outlay, the training in Dubai and the mini series against Pakistan they played as a warm up wouldn't have been a cheap exercise, actually paying the likes of Maxwell, Stoinis and blokes such as Dwarshuis to only play the short game.

The BBL should've been the audtion for the World Cup squad with the exception of those that would be walk ups if they weren't playing test cricket at the time.

Anywho, hopefully this embarrassment will see them pick T20 squads with in-form players moving

But that's not money and resources to prepare a team for the World Cup. That's just hit and giggle stuff to make money for CA. VERY different purposes.

They'd have to spend moneyy to make money, but you're looking at it from the other side of the glass (to which I understand).

I would like to think that BBL is being used as a platform for our national team, but I'm probably wrong with their intentions.

At a rough guess........no.

If it means nothing to them then they should just fill it full of kids, I just thought it was the Aussie way to win whatever challenge is thrown at you.

I don't hold my opinion higher than anyone else's, I'm just disappointed that we deliver that crud for our kids to have to see in a sport that is dwindling at community level.
