His reply was "just work from home then and get some shit done around the house, make sure you remain logged in if you go out so people see a green dot".

I've nearly completed everything I can do for the day..........winning.

Proud Dad moment.
Eldest daughter did her knee in Sept 2024. No sport for 12 months, she stayed resilient. Fast forward to the present, she’s had a full pre season for football (as well as taking up surf boat racing). She’s only 15 but has been picked to play senior football in a trial game at Richmond Oval Sunday.

That's awesome. You should be very proud of your daughter Spargo.

My lad got dropped from his SANFL club back to his local club 2 years ago - pretty much because he was unfit. The method in which he got dropped wasn't great in my opinion but SANFL level is far more cut throat than we'd ever dealt with at local footy club level, so it came as a bit of a shock to us all.

Despite us telling him that he needed to get fit, it didn't resonate with him till he got dropped. He worked hard. He got off the lounge and ran and ran and ran. His 2km time trial came down from nearly 8 minutes to 6.40 in a year and a half and now is in the midfield for SANFL U18's.

It's the resilience that you can't teach, it just is instinctive in some of these kids and I think it will hold him in good stead as he grows up, both in footy and in life.

Ronnie O’Sullivan … has the record for the most snooker maximum breaks (147), but Ronnie being Ronnie, that’s not enough, so he has just shot a 153 (courtesy of a foul allowing him to nominate a colour as a red).

He also has the fastest 147, and is the oldest player to shoot 147 (or more).
Dunno, I’m just an idiot.

Total Knee Replacement

Month 4

4 months today. What a ride.

Still sore in the knee. Still having trouble sleeping.

I went back to my GP because of the pain three weeks ago and he thought that my knee was still too inflamed. He suggested I go to a physio.

I rang a physio from my footy club who also thought it was far too inflamed and that was causing the pain in my knee at night. I'm now on a plan where I don't walk as much but ride the stationary bike, ice, rehab in the pool and weight bearing activities such as leg curls, extensions, squats and calf raises to build up the muscle wastage that's occurred over the course of the previous few years while I've been favouring the right leg.

In the week since I've been back to the physio, I've slept better already. The work I'm putting into the left leg hurts, but I know it's worthwhile.

I do actually now feel like i've turned the corner. I just hope it's not the fourth corner I've turned otherwise I'm literally back to square 1!

:-)

Bumped into a girl at work yesterday who had hers done 6 weeks ago and was almost back to normal, shows how it impacts everyone differently.

She said the iceman machine was a huge help, she left it on at night and helped her sleep. Are you using one of those?

No I'm not. I have two mates of mine, one is 7 weeks in tomorrow and one is 3.5 weeks in and both are doing better than I am. The first one hired the iceman and said it was brilliant. I didn't get that offered to me. Remembering that my surgeon told me to stop icing when I saw him in early Jan!

I really put it down to my initial rehab with my physio who I thought had done a great job. The swelling was too great for my knee to heal. So I was a bit hamstrung. Hopefully because of me, others going through the same experience can learn and have a slightly better experience.
