After the start to the year for Noffke he would have to be in for a big show to get a baggy green this summer

Have to agree, trouble is whose spot he would take. Guess he will just have to keep performing at his high standard. May only take an injury or two for him to get his chance

I would have him streaks ahead of Hilfenhaus, they both bowl around the same pace but Noffke is more than a half decent bat where as Hilfenhaus takes batting lessons from Jim Higgs

HILF :
Batting lessons from Jim Higgs + Bowling lessons from Glen Mcgrath

HILF is a better bowler + MIGHTbe better in Tests
However in O/D internationals NOFFKE is good enough to play for AU

Also NOFFKE is brilliant at the GABBA from what Ive seen the last 2 years
Any stats on him away from the GABBA ?

Right this minute i'd pick Noffke ahead of Hilfenhaus but in 10 years time Hilfenhaus will have had a long and distinguished International career and Noffke will be well into retirement with a handful of one day caps under his belt.

I meant ahead in terms of where the selectors seem to see them

- Hilfenhaus 12th man in 1st 2 tests

- Noffke doesn't even have a CA contract

I haven't seen enough of Noffke to comment on who is the better bowler only on the apparent pecking order

with all these posts you are making can you please show your true identity, I think you are the ACB head selector :) and finally I disagree with you, I think the NOFFKE could well be playing Test Cricket by next year and have 4 or 5 good years

Noffke wasted his chance with a CA contract a few seasons ago around the time of the 97 Ashes tour. probably will play a few ODIs and thats about it.

Probably right Heater, remember a couple of others that did that, guy by the name of Warne and another Ponting, think now Noffke has matured and has realised his potential as those 2 guys did, but of course time will tell

Don't think it's really appropriate to compare Warne and Ponting to Noffke. Warne and Ponting are just such incredible talents they were always going to become fine players but a guy like Noffke had to work really hard to get that CA contract and probably didn't do himself justice when he got the chance.

Not really comparing Rod, just saying that they had early opportunities and contracts but made some very silly mistakes, they worked hard to get where they ended up, whilst Noffke hasn't got a contract at the minute, he has obviously realised his talents and what can be achieved, Ponting and Warne stand out alone like a beacon with their talents, all I am saying is this guy, had an opportunity and like them, they stuffed up, came back to be 1 and 2 in the world. Noffke will never be 1 or 2 in the world but he has the talent and knowhow to be a great benefit to the Australian Cricket side
