Hogg Shield Test Cricket Fantasy Comp details

Postby Rik E Boy » Tue Nov 06, 2007 1:10 pm

Greetings,

the Hogg Shield test cricket fantasy competition is being run by Fantasy Cricket Net. To register to the site click on

http://www.cricketweb.net/fantasycricket/index.php

The Hogg Shield is League: 1194309230

This is the only Test Cricket fantasy comp I could find. This comp covers the tests between South Africa vs. New Zealand and Australia vs. Sri Lanka.

You get a certain amount of points allocated but you can pick as many players from one nation as you wish (budget allowing). Our reigning Test Cricket champion is Simon Isaacson with his Himonza's Allstars who cleaned up in the Ashes comp last year.

Welcome boys. A brief History

Year Event Winning Coach
2006 FIFA World Cup Dario (Testaccio SPQR)
2006 ICC Champions Trophy Troy (Team Hot Dog)
2006 The Ashes Simon (Himonza's Allstars)
2007 ICC World Cup REB (Cricket Monkeys)
2007 Super XIV Rugby REB (Union Blows)
2007 AFC Asia Cup Dario (Testaccio SPQR)
2007 AFL Premiership Troy (Team Ackermanis)
2007 NRL Premiership REB (The Roosters)
2007 IRB World Cup REB (Rah Rah Wasputin)

Myself, Dario and Troy are all Ipswich City Council blokes who have won eight of the nine Hogg Shields so far. Only Simon Isaacson with his Himonza's All Stars has got his name on the Hogg Shield.

There are four current Hogg Shield events running

English Premierleague
NFL (The best fantasy comp by a mile with LIVE updates)
A League

and now for Test Cricket.

Two championship teams, Cricket Monkeys and Himonza's Allstars are going head to head in this one. Dario and Troy are not in this comp and this comp will finish before the other three so I'm going for three in a row.

REB, make sure you let me know when the Premier League one starts for NEXT season.
What do you use ? I'm currently in the Fantasy Premier League and it's a cracker. Best fantasy
game I've used IMO, and I won our League last season !!

Cheers

Sportal mate. I'm totally shite at Soccer comps because I can't stand the game. I'm currently 8-4 though somehow but our league is rated very low. In the Rugby World Cup The Hogg Shield topped the world at one stage. I finished 3rd in the (FOX) world in that comp and got 31st in the (Sportal) World for the Cricket World Cup. For soccer, try about 16,387th in the (Sportal) World ha ha. My A League side is even worse.

The Hogg Shield Test competition has been run and won. Congratulations to Dan Barber who cleaned us all up in no uncertain terms. He now gets his name on the Hogg Shield as only the second non Ipswich winner of the trophy.

Final Results

2. Himonzas Allstars [Simon Isaacson]: 757 (Ack! That's twice he's beaten me now)
3. Cricket Monkeys [REB]: 690
4. Marvellous Effort that [Parko]: 666
5. Leisa's Mob [Mrs REB]: 629
6. Redback Replacements [Booney]: 621
7. Michelle's Maaaaarvellous 11 [Gibbo]: 563
8. Cubsteam [Cub]: 562
9. Ginga Ninjas [Gingernuts]: 531
10. Hampstead Hawks [Ian Lockwood]: 519
11. Over the fence is 6 and out [Carlos]: 507
12. Carlton FC [Jared Lindley]: 504 (must have tanked it ha ha)
13. KNVB United [Steve Dirksen]: 484
14. SACA 1870 [Darren Bradshaw]: 324 (spooner!)

Thanks for playing boys. Not happy with third as my hat trick is GAWN. Congrats Danny, you cleaned us up big time!
