Your Top 3 spots to watch SANFL

Postby pipers » Thu Apr 06, 2006 1:25 am

I was at Richmond on Saturday, and realised, that despite all Broadrectum's other shortcomings* the bar (fishtank?) on the north-western flank is actually a damn good vantage point.

So, name your 3 favourite spots to watch the footy, and why.

Mine:
1.) Port Bowls Club - Coopers Pale in stubbies for $4.20 with complimentary stubby-holders, half-time tea & cake put on by the bowls ladies and of course the meat* raffle - Yes, it's a tick in every box.
2.) Southern hill at the Bay. Louts galore and a good view, and close to the beer caravan and the club.
3.) The fishtank (Mound Bar) at Richmond - a warm refuge on a wintery afternoon.

Narrowly missing out - the family area at Woodville - generally a good vibe and great for some harmless banter.

I love to stand behind the end sturt are kicking :D, its just been a father/son tradition. But here are a few favs.

1) The 'hill' at Unley under the timeclock

2) Behind the northern goals at AO

3) School end of the Bay (the famous spot of Beatles last second goal :D)

I also enjoy watching footy at the parade under the scoreboard and at richmond also.

I beleive most if not all club ovals offer a solid vantage point.

Fatal,I will be in the Bowling club on Saturday.Pale,Pies and Port wrapped into one nice neat package.See you there.

And that is my number 1 spot to watch footy from.
Number 2 is the tank at Richmond,(having lived near by for years I went to several matches which did not involve Port)
Finally, the Hill at Adelaide Oval.An Icon.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

2. Coopers Hill
3. Outer at Alberton

Ironically I don't stand at my first and second pics as they're not the best spots for the kids.

No I dont but you missed the point anyway as I was talking more about room to move and the kids being able to see the game.
