Ins and Outs of note for Rd 2

Postby Wedgie » Fri Apr 07, 2006 8:35 am

Port:
IN: Surjan
OUT: Stevens

Central:
IN: Cowan

Eagles:
IN: Lindsay, Powell, Cooper, Fiacchi.
OUT: Rugolo, Skipworth, Shattock

South:

IN: Clarke, Cupido, Carlile, Thewlis

North:
IN: Cox
OUT: Koops, Bamford, Lonie

Sturt:
IN: Feast, Whiteman
OUT: Thurstans

Norwood:
OUT: Bassett, Massie

Another good looking week of footy, pity they're all on the same day as I'd like to catch at least one other game.
All 4 games have the potential to be nailbiters.
Port and Central will be a ripper at Alberton Oval.
Glenelg and Eagles, if as good as the game last year down at the Bay will be worth the price of admittance!
South and North, who knows, South could win by 10 goals, South could lose by 10 goals, it could be a draw, anything can happen with these 2 teams.
Sturt and Norwood, another toss of the coin job, Norwood have winning form.

The Advertiser journos were all in agreeance in picking Central, Eagles, North and Sturt.

Betting:

Port $1.80 Central $1.80
Eagles $1.55 Glenelg $2.55
North $1.35 South $2.80
Sturt $1.80 Norwood $1.80

Value of the week: South

Port and Central is on 5RPH
Sturt and Norwood is on LifeFM (LifeFM also has live streaming on the net, I bet Jimmy's happy!)

Either with a betting account or at the Morphettville Audotorium as per previous years unless something's changed?

Can anyone clarify the following

Adelaide Interchange - Clarke, Doughty, Johncock, Massie, Shirley, Skipworth, Stevens - None of these players are named in SANFL sides, they can't all play for the Crows?

Port Interchange - Ezard, Lonie, Mahoney, Pettigrew, Salopek, Shattock, Symes - As above except Symes is listed for Centrals, rest all playing for the Power?

Will there be late changes to the SANFL sides printed? You used to be able to tell who was playing for the Crows/Power by the SANFL sides. Am I missing something?

Nah, only get to Morphettville or deposit funds if there's a glaring discrpency on what they should be.
Made a heap in 2004 when North were ridiculously long for most games ($4.50 against Norwood in Rd 1 springs to mind) where I made a heap, reluctant to give it back. ;)

You are spot on WCP - there may be some late changes. I know that North have been told that Lonie is definately in the Power side but having said that in the past we have named AFL players on Thursday nights after being told they were definately going to play SANFL then an injury or weather forecast forces the AFL club to pull the player out of the SANFL and play up - or even worse take them interstate as an emergency which is what I imagine the Power will do this week as they have a couple under injury clouds. So in effect a player might not play at all this weekend - ala Damon White for a good part of 2004.

From the Crows Clarke, Johncock & Shirley would all play. Doughty didn't play last week so I'd expect him to play for South. That leaves Skippy, Massie & Stevens for the last spot....

The bookies odds are probably on expectations, South are worth a bit but i wouldnt bet against my own team ;)

All 4 will be beauties though unfortunately, i wish i didnt get nervous everytime North played South. It will be a huge relief if we get the 2 points.

Funny the Eagles side emailed to me last night was nothing like on the 5RPH SANFL footy teams show(havent seen the paper yet) :D .Wedgie you were at Prospect last week did you also notice skipworth favouring one of his ankles ,I am pretty sure he will be at the bays (just a hunch) and he will have a power mate playing with him in Shattock .
now that I have said that Ill be proven wrong :D
