Well, that's out of the bag then.
Apparently he's trained with the Dogs already.

Is he going to use his complimentary voucher for a free premiership? One that comes with every contract when you sign with the dogs.

You will find that Todd Grima has already asked the Power that if they draft him to automatically place him at Centrals due to his brother Nathan being with us, making it a million times easier for him to settle in. From my understanding the Power will be more than happy to do this as this move makes perfect sense and maybe speed up his progress at the Power.
So yeah either way im sure he will suit up for Central. I know the club hope he does get signed by the Power as we wont have to fit him in the Salary cap.

There is a precedent of this happening a player (can't think of name) wanted to be placed at Glenelg which was then allowed, i think it happened between 2001-2004

I believe he is utilising the second part of Slattery's 2 for 1 voucher.

Not sure who you mean there whufc, unless you are referring to Tom Logan, who came to Glenelg without going through the mini-draft because he had played a couple of Under 17s games for us.

I too recall a player being placed - can't say which AFL or SANFL club but it does ring a bell. Something to do with a mate who was also drafted and placed at that club. :?:

Glenelg was once given North's mini draft pick to draft two Crows recruits who were mates and wanted to remain at the same club. North got Glenelg's pick the next year.

I can't remember who were the players that were involved though...

That's the one, thanks.

Not the same at all then, will be interesting to see what approach the SANFL takes to this suggestion (if the situation eventuates - he could get drafted to Brisbane and stuff the whole plan up).

Im just wondering if they were two that were placed at the same SANFL club by their AFL club? I don't recall it happening to be honest, but some of the punters here suggest it has.

Doughty is a South Australian, who was recruited from South Adel (may have been rookied first), and Angwin went to Glenelg in the rookie draft (i think??).

I"ve got a sneaking suspicion it might have been Aiden Parker who may have been involved in this situation but i'm not sure..

I believe you to be correct, as was the theory that North gave the Bays 2 picks one year, & the favour was returned the next.
I was obviously on Mars that year, as there's no way known I would've let North do the Bays a favour...

Spot on Permistance Angwin and Handby were "arranged" by the Crows to go to the Bays in 2001 as they were mates from the same TAC club (we had first pick courtesy of McGuinness' last year at the club  ) and obviously Punky had been inhaling too many of his chemicals as we got Norths pick in return for North having both our picks next year

For obvious reasons the practice hasn't been repeated as it worked out so beautifully for all parties......
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Good to hear that Dean Rice is still playing football!

Seriously, if its the player we are all thinking of, did they have to wheel his wheelchair out to training? If it goes ahead, Centrals would hope they'd get more out of him than his last couple of years.

If Grima is rookied, it will only be a question of whether he'll go first or second mini-draft pick.
