I think you quoted Punk Rooster not North.

And I don't know which calender you use but the 11th of Decmeber is pretty late in the year on my calenders. :?

Crikey, two glaring errors in one sentence, youre surpassing your usual high standard of about 1 every sentence Topsy!

so my pointing out that some sides continually get lucky in the Rookie/PS/National Draft is whinging?

Given pre-season has started, I would call it early in the footy year. We are talking footy aren't we?

I would agree a key forward is our 3rd prority and that hasn't changed.
Recruiting has changed significantly in recent years.
Theres no use in showing interst in Ward, Clarke, O'Brien or Archard as they would have signed elsewhere.
Norths (and other clubs too) mistake is not recruiting too early its not recruiting smarter.

Some good points there Wedgie but I would have thought throwing $$$ at a 24 yr old longer term propostion for CHB in Sam Hunt would have been priority / smarter than the big $$$ we are allegedly paying 30 yr old Daniel Ward who is not a key position defender. Also if the mail I have is anywhere near the mark re what Ward and Archard are getting then it's no wonder we had no money to move on Hunt or a ruckman (e.g. Doyle - it was only money that got him to Nwd!) so the chances or getting another fwd let alone a ruckman which we desperately need are looking very remote.

Interesting your thoughts again

How could any club compete with the Football package & the Job sam hunt has scored in WA. Total package is $120 K alledged. Norths senior management can only do so much, how do you want them to match that.

SALTER, PETRENKO ROOKIE LISTED
The Club would like to congratulate Nick Salter (Power) and Jared Petrenko (Crows) for being selected as rookie list players. The great news for all Eagles fans is that they are staying in Adelaide. All the best boys!

Thats great for the club.

More lucky than last year losing Jacobs in the rookie draft. Could have done with him here without Lindsay now. I had pencilled down Petrenko as a loss to the club, and I'm surprised he is still in this state. Perhaps those shoulders scared off the interstate clubs.

Great to hear these two are staying with the Eagles while having the chance to play AFL footy! Both are exciting to watch and look forward to them having good seasons next year and hopefully getting elevated to the main list for '09.

If by 'glaring error' you mean things you happen to disagree with then I'm shattered I'm only averaging one per sentence.

Most of us dont go by calendar years, with the year ending on the 1st (sometimes 2nd) Sunday of October. :)

For me lately its ended early September :(
