Gday Lads,

Posting form Melb airport where I have been for the last couple of days for work, decided against going to Sandown for the dishlickers last night and went for a wander thru Crown, now I havent played BJ for a while but dealers are now drawing on soft 17's...e.g. I sat on 20 and dealer had A6 and kept drawing!!!!...I thought I had won, of course he ended up drawing 21 :( ...it happened again later in the night....I asked around and apparently its a new rule...anyone else aware of other Casinos playing this rule? havent played in Adelaide for over 12 months, last played in Darwin in August and that rule wasnt up there

cant believe they can change such a rule when it hasnt existing in BJ for as long as I know...

I played recently in Brisbane and it was sit on 17, also played recently in Adelaide and its sit on 17.
I know sometimes whe the Blackjack tables are full and I go to a Pontoon table that they have some weird rules in place that seem to change all the time?

Always been 17, that's why if the dealer starts with a 6 you should sit no matter what. If they pull a picture they are 16 and have to go again, you SHOULD win. Unless they are asian, when they will pull a 5. Not being racist, I just think they are a very lucky race when it comes to the punt!!
Hi, My name is Ron 'Bluey' Dunn. Did you know I played in the 61 & 62 Tasman Premiership sides....

Sounds like a Bullshit rule Dutchy unless you are sitting on 16 or less and the dealer goes again on a soft 17 and ultimely BUSTS. Can work both ways but personally gave Blackjack away at Least 10 years ago. Easier ways to Make Money than basically betting on coin tosses.

agree JJ, I only played for a bit of fun, was planning on playing poker but they had some Aussie Millions qualifiers on last night and no sit 'n' go tourneys that I usually play...

agree that it gives them a chance to bust, but they have obviously done the sums and wouldnt have changed the rule if it didnt benefit them

on the subject of blackjack I was amazed when I went to Vegas that you could double up on ANY hand!
