A case could be made for it but I still think Sturt'll be around the middle of the pack looking to sneak in the 5 come finals time, along with the Bays and Norwood. Get a few injuries though and that will change - as you say the depth just isn't there. Some juniors are getting a lot of game time at the moment. Looks like being a really close season - couldn't say with any conviction who will be spooners and who will win the flag...

Anyone know how Matt Cooper went for the Eags today?

zippy, totally agree...hell, its looking more of a rebuilding year as it goes on... but we definately lack the depth that we had a few years ago...

Scary stuff, we didn't kick a goal in the first 21 minutes and still manged to kick 20.
Could've had 30 goals if Gill and Hargs had kicked straight!

Anyone got stats on sides to lose from being 36pts up 20 minutes into the game?

For all non North fans you're mad if you miss your club playing North this year as you're going to miss an attackathon with plenty of highlights and great footy to boot. I still have question marks on Jar's coaching at times but unlike most coaches, especially AFL coaches he definately has the game at heart!
All sides are going to have a chance against us this year, going to be a week to week proposition, I have no doubt North will lose games they're expected to win with the style of game they're playing.

Neil Craig would have had a fit today!

I remember a relatively important game around 1994 against the Eagles like this...

i think back in 1999 or there abouts wedgie at prossie, the cox were up by 6 goals at 1/4 time for us to come back and win by 6 or 7. Big wind that day.

When they played him near the ball he looked good but most of his mates went missing again yesterday.
I have to write this message here I could do a seperate post but I wont.To the so called Loyal Eagles fans sitting and standing behind us (and some in the gstands from what I heard at the canteen) why do you bother to come and support my beloved Eagles if all you can say and I will quote the syaings here
"Sack Fuller" "sack Fuller" " I hope the bays win today I hope we finish bottom" "If they re-sign fuller I wont rejoin"
Guys and Girls We dont want you at the ground if all you can do is bag the team and coach I would rather have 200 people there cheering and having faith than you people bagging everyone and everything at the club.
Even the famous chris who has run ins on AA told them to shutup and be positive .

Saw the blues / redlegs game - very fast game. Left not to unhappy cause Norwoods pressure was very good causin us to make skill errors in which we can usually pride our selves on - this gave Norwood some easy turn overs.

Not to sure about playin coady in defence - much better for me up forward as last year I thought he was great up there. Maybe he is just fillin in cause of our lack of big defenders.

Deluca needs a few more full games to get use to the speed of it all and I think he will add something in the middle.

Sheedy his usual best with Curtis pretty steady and relaible and I thought Jarjoura played his best game for the Blues.

EHL EHL anyone seen EHL? Quick to post after the trial games with his ladder and assessment of an easy win against the Bays at Thebby.....

Shite mate based on your assessment on the Bays this year, how the heck do you think you are going to beat Centrals (or maybe Port/North) in the big one fella if you can't beat the lowly Bays??

Made my day yesterday picking up the Mail at the shop here in Western Vic and checking the scores, read the the Mail didn't buy it though...

Long way to go yet for the Bays though we will put in a few more sensational performances this year only to turn up next week and play a shocker, got to expect that with kids and a new game plan.

Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

For what its worth i think you're exaggerating a bit to say Cornes was best footballer in Aust in 1980? Did he win a brownlow that year? A Magarey? I also dont even think hes the best footballer in his family :P

He is the gayest member of his family though and marginally more opinionated than his wife. Doesn't she writes some absolute crap in the Sunday Mail. Just think of some very intelligent people who have gone through University and study media and journalism (not that all journo's are smart though!) who struggle to establish a media career and both the Cornes end up with columns in the paper with the qualifications of what?

To quote Cornesy himself on Saturday morning, in response to a lazy email potshot from a listener

"Now mate, i'll say just one thing. Would you rather have your life then mine?"

P.S. It annoys me when people bag Cornesy all the time, yes he is a massive sh*t stirrer, and highly opinionated, (and often wrong), but his commitment and passion for the SANFL and the bays can in no way be questioned. He is at many, many Bays games, (home and away). I notice the visiting lads from the Werribee Cricket Club were all agog to see the 1980 Tassie Medallist having a "kick to kick" with his youngest daughter after the game Saturday, on bay oval.

Well borat - the only time you hear anything from Cornesy about the SANFL on 5AA is when the Bays win and boy don't we hear about it. Coincidence that the main SANFL interview was with the winning coach of Glenelg last night?

For all our sakes (other than the Bay fans) let's hope Glenelg don't get on a roll otherwise it will be painful to listen to his gloating. Hopefully West will struggle as well otherwise KG will start yapping!

Fair call drebin, we'll all give 5AA a rest unless we want to hear masturbatory Glenelg dribble.

For masturbatory North Adelaide dribble, we'll just keep reading safooty.net.

This is precisely the arrogance of Graham Cornes that alienates people. He probably wouldn't know the person who e-mailed from a tea-cozy, and yet he automatically assumes his life is better. That's Cornes all over. The way he talks down to callers is a disgrace considering if it weren't for people calling in and e-mailing they'd have no program. The most dangerous people in the world are those who think they are intelligent but aren't. This is Cornes, the quintessential psuedo-intellectual.

You always know what he has been reading as he works it into his comments in an attempt to create the illusion he is clever. If he's as smart as he would have us believe, how come he's been working on radio for nigh on 10 years now and still can't operate the panel, nor be able to ascertain the correct time?
