I agree with Zedman the Eddie MacGuire of div 5. Who do Golden Grove think they are?

The way I see it, Green and Gold are the Colours of Australia (and represent the green and wattle lined streets of GG) and Kookaburras are Australian animals, pre GG becoming a Delfin project, Im sure there where sihteloads of the buggers around..."

well FC maybe they should have called themselves the "wattlers" then or perhaps "the goldenroaders"..that patch of land they called an oval sat there for a long time before an oval was stenciled onto it ..there were no kookaburras there cuz there were no trees..in fact it was a tin shed basically..and that was it

you say you are called the falcons cuz of sponsorship..thats nice..u have a reason why you are called the falcons..i want to know why they called themselves the kookaburras..when they have no reason to

Ok, why are Greenacres called the Dragons??? How many kangaroos do you see hopping around North Melbourne? " That" patch of land does not depict the whole of Golden Grove. What Im trying to say is that there's no reason to keep making an example of the GGFC. There are a million clubs you could be accusing of having meaningless logo's... not that I'm encouraging you to do so...

Dont YOU start...

Perfect example... Kilburn isn't exactly known for all the Knights living in the suburb. The only way you can relate KNIGHT to Kilburn is that "you dont go out at KNIGHT in kilburn." I wonder if thats why they started calling them "the killers"

We are called the Knights because we are so chivalrous. Not because chics sounded silly.

look forward to hosting you at the "dogtrack" in '08 zedman. it's the best we've got mate and it seems to get us by, not fancy but thats the way it goes. have you been inside our "facilities"?

i reckon let the GG boys call themselves what they want, seems to get you a bit excited and creates a bit of conversation on a fairly quiet forum.

Nothing wrong with some banter, kookaburras can be yellow and green when you shoot them down with paintball guns lol. Im proud of the kookaburra logo on a Kenilworth guernsey and yes there is some rivalry probably going back to 1999 when Kenilworth upset Golden grove in an elimination final. Btw good luck to Golden Grove,2 years ago they had huge numbers aswell and a young list, but still were not much chop (In all fairness we were not either). Still if they hang around the lower divs in the upcoming years they are under acheiving. After all the stongest clubs in SAAFL are mostly from the north-eastern suburbs of adelaide. I wish the gov would give us that f*****g grant to build our new clubrooms,we would grow FAST if that occured (Plus a TAB lol). Youre a luchy man bulldog there.

Well ive missed a bit havnt i!!!!!! lol

Kookaburras are not green gold and blue your are right. The colours delfin used when developing the area and hence becoming synominous with the area are green blue and gold. Hence golden grove high being green and gold an pedare having mainly blue uniforms.

No trees???? Are we talking about the same place or what???? Ever been for a stroll through cobbler creek? No kookaburras in the area???....wrong again. I regurarly have kookaburras, cockatoos, and ibis in my backyard. Lots of nature out here. Kookaburras among it. Summer afternoons we will often hear them laughing from the training track. Not lauging at our training eitheer before one of you smart arses jumps in with the obvious comment.

Just because we were not the first kookaburras does not mean we have dont have a right to call ourselves the kookaburras. Illogical and pointless argument

Lets cut the bulls*** and get back to the football

We are called the kookaburras beacuase there are a number of kookaburras in the golden grove area. Cobbler creek is an example of this. When you say greenfields oval...do you mean greenwith oval??? The one near the primary school? Yes not many trees there but the football club is representative of the total golden grove area. A football club reaches past the confides if its club rooms and the oval at which they reside. As kookaburras are a part of the nautral surroundings of golden grove, it is an appropriate choice.
