They used to tow an old caravan around to the game of the week when I was playing in the Great Southern. 2 old fellas used to do the commentating on a local AM station. Used to get a bit of an audience too!

The mystery of Waylon Joncock continues - saw him on Monday at Ceduna and he said he was still playing for Port and liking it.
I reckon I heard Mooney was playing for Henley - not sure if that was the footy club or the lifesaving club tho

Would be great... but lack of funds would kill it... definatly something for btb and rossco to chase up! What was great was driving home from the footy and you had an update on who won the other games, surely it wouldnt be to difficullt to do that say at 5.00pm and 5.15pm. Ahh footy in the old days.... remember when they would replay the local GFs on the Sunday morning on GTS?
No body beats Vladge in the sprints OL!!!
GG been a great horse, having a city winner would be a great thrill!

no lack of funds if it's the 'Office National Game of the Day' with various other sponsors from all clubs chipping in. If they have Friday night games next year it could be the time to do it.

Who's going for a look at the Tiges tonight, might slip down with a couple of cans for a look before Prison Break......

Was at Vic Park when she won last..felt pretty important going into the winners bar after the race...Fields of Omagh won the race before so we were in select company.

Can guarantee if its the "ONGOD" then the proprietor of ON will provide all commentary (incl guest comments), voice the adds plus sing the national anthem before AND after the game...no room for you panther unless you wanted to participate in Rosscos Quiz at the half time interval.

btw what time does the game start tonite?

BTB - fair point about getting people to panel for a broadcast. The $$ is an issue at regional stations, you know that. It barely pays for your mid-morning focaccia.
Sponsorship to 'pay for the show' would be an issue. And getting the equipment out there each week then teeing it up at the station. But, I think people would listen. You can sponsor different parts of the broadcast. BOG as voted by the commentator etc

And have a club rep ring in at each quarter for wrap up.
I think it'd be great, but would it stop some 'supporteers' from heading out in the wet and cold when they can hear it on the wireless...?

It wouldn't stop people from going, those that currently go are the same ones each week who love their footy and their clubs. A broadcast may in fact bring back people who gave it away for the Crows etc, let them listen for a few weeks then they may decide to go down for a look. If it's good enough to broadcast, must be good footy. Bit of smoke and mirrors to promote the local game, as said before, it needs it....
