A PK + CHELTENHAM + WHYALLA + VICTOR HARBOR days out 26/12

ANGLE PARK
Dropped into Angle Park.
I was greeted at the main stairs by an empty plate with old gravy + bread.
The stairs were disgustingly filthy.
Couldnt get a race book for either todays or TOMorrows meeting.
Food was abyssMAL.
Yeah I now its recycled posting by me again
BUT when clubs are competing for gaMALbling dollars and have the complex littered
with dirty stairs and lack of service thats simply not good enough.
I am truly embarrased that an industry that I have loved and supported for over
30 years could be this embarrasing.
The crowd was excellent for a Wednesday and the TAB was doing a good trade.
No bookie there was a pity.
It was free to get in, a sMALl consellation
I had one bet and then left disappointed.
RATING 2/10

CHELTENHAM
Mighty Tiger will be absolutely astonished.
I arrived there and a man with his feMALe partner + kids :
feMALe " aww come on lets just go in."
malE " BUTS ITS TOO MUCH..."
this happened last time I went there with MT79 to this track for a mid week last month !!!!
$15 adults
$7-50 concession
The entertainment was very good with jumping castles/face painting etc.
The racing was first class with the XMALs handicap the highlight.
Many younger people, lots of kids but $15 ???? too much about $5 is the right
admission price to get repeat business, I doubt the $30 spent by some families
will attract them back.
Food .......I ate a roll today and fair dinkum was frightened I would crack a tooth !
The bread was as hard as Another Grub driving past Hanson Road !
The rolls have been this hard for ages I was later told.
The sandwiches are pre made from NSW ???
Bookies were friendly, crowd well behaved.
A tote lady is a single lady again .....
Still a good day out
And after the last race the cleaners were cleaning up all the litter, well done indeed.

RATING 7/10

How was Victor Harbor + Whyalla today [and did SPORTY SPICE win ?] ?

yeah a local oncourse only tote, no doubles, trebles or surprisingly exactas or MALany 2's

crowd i hear someone after the last say at the last count there was just over 600 & i couldn't argue with that

with their iniatives this year ($5.00 entrance including racebook) 9.6/10 ps, the book was printed sheets of the net but the thought is terrific

all the experts were up there like micky crime, ben harding, trackman scott, tony lawrence (working), ben cormack, our own robber & of course CHEIFY among a host of others
