Full Globe Derby 29th Preview

Postby SCD » Sat Dec 29, 2007 12:39 am

R1 - 4 and 5 the quickest beginners... I think 5 might be caught in the breeze, so i'll be backing the 2 a place from a good draw (not that quick out though!)

R2 - I wouldn't be taking to short a price about the 7.. although I think it can win - there are some horses going ok in this field, including 3 (who I would have backed at Victor :( :( ) 8 and 10 who can beat a horse that was a little off last start...

R3 - 7 just about has a mortgage on this race (3rd to Mendacity is good enough for a claiming race) 1,2,5,8,10 the main place hopes (if 7 is too short - I expect 5 to lead here.... and will be a good price)

R4 - 2 will lead and should win, main danger is the 1 (who will take a sit for sure) with best place hopes being 4,6,7,9

R5 - Jimmy thinks the 2 will lead... I don't think it's got enough speed.. I think 1 can lead, which makes 7 the best e/w bet of the night.. other winning hopes for quaddies / doubles 2,5,6

R6 - 4,7 the main hopes from 2,11 and rough place hopes being 1,8 (Jimmy has it right in that 7 looks a good chance - vic form is very good)

R7 - not much form here, but 4,8,10 should run the trifecta

R8 - 3 will win, 1 will run 2nd and 2 or 5 will fill the other placing

R9 - 2 and 6 will run the quinella and 7 should just beat 5 home for 3rd....

SCD's Bets
R1 - 2 Place
R2 - depends on the price of 7 whether I back it or risk it... (want $1.80 or so)
R3 - 7 win if >$2.50 if not, I will prob back 5 e/w
R4 - 2 win
R5 - 7 e/w
R6 - 7 e/w
R7 - 4,8,10 boxed tri
R8 - 3 - 1 - 2,5 tri
R9 - 2,6 quin

Quaddie -
2 - 7 - 7 - 4,7,8 for multiple units
1,2 - 2,5,6,7 - 4,7 - 4,8,10 for a couple
1,2,4 - 2,5,6,7 - 2,4,7,11 - 4,8,10 as a saver

There's no excuses anymore boys we talk about the blokes who are hopeless at it like M. Farrow and H. Wetkowski and co. But this bloke takes the cake especially for the drives he gets, P. Cav has to be the biggest clown since BOZO, CFS is what should come after his name should read P.Cavallaro(CFS) and after round about 20 years of driving he has not learnt one thing. Clown of the week award goes to him and all the other Freddo's that are a hinderance to the game.

R1 - 2 Place 3rd $1.30 place

R3 - 7 win if >$2.50 if not, I will prob back 5 e/w no good
R4 - 2 win wins $3.40
R5 - 7 e/w wins $3.30 + $1.50
R6 - 7 e/w wins $5.10 + $1.60
R7 - 4,8,10 boxed tri lost here + the quaddies....
R8 - 3 - 1 - 2,5 tri wins $5.20
R9 - 2,6 quin falls in pays $1.30

Quaddie -
2 - 7 - 7 - 4,7,8 for multiple units
1,2 - 2,5,6,7 - 4,7 - 4,8,10 for a couple
1,2,4 - 2,5,6,7 - 2,4,7,11 - 4,8,10 as a saver

I've only broken even for the night because of race 7 :( :( :( :(

Race 2 numbers 10 - 3 - 9 (Tri $14,900 - I took 7 to beat 3,8,10)... and then had $75 on the 7 at the $1.80 :roll: :roll:

That "horse" in race 7 made sure I didn't get the quaddie and no savers in the last leg tonight..
Some very average drives in the 2yr old race I have to say (esp D Billinger!!) that cost me a result.. I had the quaddie with 4,8,10 going for $7.50 = a very good result with them paying for $1 -
4 = $177
8 = $271
10 = $410

R2-7 EXOTICS unplaced :oops:
R4-4 EXOTICS ran 3rd, usual honest effort
R8 exacta WINS $ 4-20
R9 quinella wins $1-30 [exacta $6-40 why didnt I think of that]

No damage if we played the exotics
I also missed the last leg of the quaddie when the drivers on the favourites
completely and utterly destroyed each other

Ill just point out 2 for the weekend Safe Ridge friday night dont care what the instructions were his arse has been on the horse more times than anyone so therefor he should know that its a cripple and needs a sit, then tonight wants to sit back on Standley Chasm when their going 66 halves? Every other time he sules it to the death or 3 wide at the worse time of the race when there going flat out? Absolute coma victom. The thing that i can't understand is that these types of stables must have too much money or their just plain dumb or brain dead. Why wouldn't you just simply hand up to Matzarula and put your money on it? My dog could have thought it through better than these Freddo's

Strutter you missed the worst one of the weekend in my view...

That 1800m weak animal Assert (who could only run 2230m in a float) - goes 45 second lead time and then has heart failure at the 700m and gets beaten almost 100m...

Great driving this weekend :roll: :roll: :roll:

i agree with safe ridge's drive on friday & after its performance you'd have to say its slight hiccup on monday didn't make any difference to that run either as for standley chasm i'll get back to you after i watch the replays, but you've been out there strutter why does a bigger crowd make some drivers drive differently to any other part of the year ? i can only think of a 'stage fright' type of thing

Mate ill keep it simple those THEO's drive like spastics the majority of the time whether there is 1 person there or a million people there, these blokes go home after sitting 3 wide the trip and 'butchering' one and say to themselves we had bad luck!! Its true, the GOOD drivers the ones who make 1 mistake in 10 drives either bet themselves and know the horses/form backwards or hang around people who know what their talking about and have got an idea. You really can't be expected to be a genious when your getting instructions from someone whom a 3 year old speaks clearer than. But at the same time those 'juniors' have got to want to learn and take in experience rather than 'LAIRdRISE' and bag/criticise or blame others, cause majority of the time its these young blokes fault...... as i say been there done that!!!!!!!!
