The results were the lights were good and Bostons were bad! Not sure on exact results.... even first qauter when Bostons had a couple of name players on... but after that all UY. Final score would have been interesting. Do you know biggles or rm?

I think it was around 19 to 4...only saw last bit but lights were excellent. Oval needs a bit of work tho..and does it need to be that wide FFS?

Correct HTM, last night was a good advertisement for the lights and night footy in Port Lincoln. I couldn't believe the amount of people there to see a trial between two 'struggling' sides (I'll leave it at that :? ) Fitzy was there and he would be rubbing his hands together, it will be a huge success. PL public has been looking for this for a while. Friday nights will be a great night out, go to the footy then like the races everyone heads to the Tassie!! Get a good crowd on the hill and I can see the place may even have atmosphere, although looking into the sun during afternoon games is a big downside. Is also very big as Boags stated....

Agree with comments regarding Ravendale however one other problem is that when there is a breeze it will more often than not come from the carpark end and it would be reasonable to think that majority of play will be down the other end. No cars allowed to park around the oval there so wondering wether they can alter things so cars can park from curren limit around to the other side.

Also quite a number of cars parked around the oval that were empty through the game. Would be nice if these people can park in the large carpark and let the old dears, and some not so old, who like to sit in their car on a not so nice afternoon park their cars around the oval. Might not be a problem on some days but should be encouraged by the League on blockbuster (hate that word as it reminds me of Eddy McG) games. when a decent crowd could be expected. Might just help atttendance figures.

A great start to Friday night football however.

yes well just to add comment with the rest of the key board critics, the night couldnt of been any better for a kick around the park, pity it was bostons who seemed to be getting kicked all over the park, some good signs for Ramsey came out of the game such as there were 18 on the field at all times and JJ looked superb in those flashy white boots.
This is the future in Port lincoln Football as friday night footy is edging closer and closer, can we see next year the return of the Port Lincoln Football league pre season Lightning carnival held on friday nights ??????? something fitzy should contemplate !!
Have to agree fully with the amount of car parking spaces, can see cars being parked at the start of the juniors and no vehicle viewing for the senior grades, therefore numbers through the gate could be a problem as shelter from the 40 knot winds off porter bay whistle in.
All and all it was a successful night and the tigers miss singing their club song for another 12 months, Ady Searle up forward = Matty Richardson having a day out.

lighting fantastic at Ravendale lets get Fri night footy happening in PL, if two clubs got together and wanted to trial it later in the year wouldnt that be great, what about the tin look on the outside of the complex? WTF did they get that far and then run out of money? Tin sheeting looks tackie!!. Bostons team was patheitic and they are certain not to win a game going on that. As soon as biggles was taken off the flood gates opened!, UY had 12 A graders out. What odds them not to win a game all year grub?

just a bit reserved on kicking night footy off yet fellas a lot has to be considered eg. extra lighting for car park and lighting further away from the ground - would hate for a young kid to be hit in the dark.
An interesting rule in the Bgrade this year on the table at the minute is if there is only say 15 players on one side due to lack of numbers should the other side play with only 15 to even it up or should they be allowed 18 on the field? My thioughts is that they should be allowed one extra player on the field... sounds about fair. SO if say Bostons had 16 we could have 17 or if Mallees had 14 we could have 15....ect.. playing with the same amount eg 14 on 14 disadvantages the side wtih the good niumbers too much but letting them have 18 onto 14 no one wants to see that... Interesting one as it could come up a couple of times this year.
OL I am not prepaired to post a market on that.

stuff from last night:

Final score UY 20.16 Bostons 4.9 approximately
A good night for UY - went back to Bostons for a few drinks and nibbles
Oval and lights were good
About 20 times more UY supporters down in Lincoln than Marble Range supporters who came to Karkoo last week
Aaron Bilney played for Bostons
UY new players M Habner(Hills - returned), A Jones(Tasmans), L Turner(Darwin returned) S Graham (KI) plus local juniors
UY have lost five regulars from last year and probably another six who played a handful of games
UY probably only missing 3 or 4 A graders last night
Not sure who Bostons better players were

great to see the racing community support the last meeting I see horses with no chance whatsoever have nominated to allow the meet to progress. I mean Devices and Surfie girl in the class 4 1000m is almost comical but hey we will have a meeting. Gordon Richards is bringing one over in the three year old race that is going to blow them away. Who will ride Rodeto this week, got any inside info eski?

Only saw the first 10 minutes last night before any goals were scored. I thought that was the best i've seen Bostons play for the last 2 years, except their disposal let them down. Maybe they dropped off after i left. A few of their young fellas know what they're doing. Young Paech looked the goods. Mick Rodda said they don't expect to keep him long, without thinking i responded 'Marble Range hey'. Turns out he was thinking of Port Magpies. Oops.

This proposed B grade rule...are some clubs struggling that much for numbers?
I think if it is brought in, the team with the numbers should have at least one extra player. Of course you don't want to see a landslide, but there are so many facets to a club, and I've been in some that had to make that many phonecalls it's not funny. But they did it.
The shorter quarters already help with avoiding massively lop-sided scorelines.

dont think we will be like that round 1, we had Kotzy and about 8 others out. We will be better than that and push Lincoln South first game. Yes biggles was good with his experience in the back half, Lydes dominated in the ruck with his agility and Paechy and Tom Parkinson went well, also impressed with Nick Thorpe who will improve with every run in senior footy. I was also impressed with Brians professionalism he brings to the club, he spoke very well. Devlin is not coaching Mallees juniors either. Hes playing for us.

Just quoting Tuesday's Times. Not necessarily mutually exclusive. Viv used to coach MP juniors and play in GFFL which was a bit strange, but to switch between teams in the same league would be taking it to the next level.
