Hot of the press, and will interest you rumormongrel...
League have received first disputed clearance application - Marble Range against MP - U17 player - James Lindsay. Devlin Walsh and Marcus Pickett's clearances (to Bostons) have been refused as well.
Will now be interesting to watch tribunal decision because MP saying they will not release anyone to another PL GF club.

So MP were happy to grab a couple from other clubs, but vice versa is just not cricket?
I'm not surprised.
What a nice feeling it'd be around there this year...

What was the reason for Ramsey being sacked as coach of Waybacks?

According to OL a couple of senior 'high profile' players didnt get on with Ramsey, It was put that its either he goes or we go (apparently). This worked out great for us as we have possibly the best coach in the comp. He has great respect with our senior players and is communicating well with the youngsters. Get him on a 10 year contract! Best thing we ever did, Go THE TIGERS!

Well as the season gets closer the market for the first games is looking like this...
W $1.10 v MP $5.50
LS $1.05 v B $11
MR $1.50 v T $2.30
The last game is without doubt the one to watch, but being on a Sunday and being at Wangary it will be robbed of the crowd it deserved, whats everyone elses thoughts should it have been re-sceduled to Centenary?
If anyone is having a bet tommorow I have studied a bet that I think is a good thing @ $2.60, The bet is Geelong to win by 1-39 pts... now I know you are all thinking that they should win by plenty at home and on form (over 40 pts $1.70) but the forecast is for scattered showers and gusting winds... Hawthorn scrap well and will go down but not by over 7 goals thus giving us a good collect... $100 @ $2.60 = $260.... $160 profit and have a great night at the Tasman that will do me!!!
Hawthorn scrapped well in Tasmania to be up on Freo by 10 goals early in the last qauter then they were beaten by a skillful hot Collingwood at the Dome... they are going OK and will scrap this game right out! either team under 15.5 pts @ $5.75 aint the worst beat either if you want a saver.

OL would know wouldn't he....hell we don't even know who OL is...might be the mighty ram himself. No secret that BR and a number of senior players were not reading off the same page, but to believe that the WFC would act on the opinions of a few is very misguided. The WFC reviewed the entire football department after the '04 GF and as per our constitution we called for applications for the A grade coaching position. As you would expect from a succesful club, we had a number of excellent applicants and after an exhaustive selection process David Hawes was appointed as the coach for '06. BR was not 'sacked', he was however not re-appointed. Will not go into the full reasons but player discord was not a major issue. We will not allow the 'tail to wag the dog'
You are right rm, BR is a very capable coach and I believe he is the right person for the job at hand, as he was for us in '03. However given that the WFC won the flag in 2005, results would determine that our decision was a sucessful one. Would be very interested to see how many clubs would have the 'balls'' to make the same decsion given the circumstances.

I think Ramsey was a top bloke.
But I do think Hawes was a lot more willing to try different things during a game, winning or losing.
This showed with some matchups in the GF last year. Ones that even I thought were strange but worked an absolute treat.
