Thanks alot Jimmy. That was quite a good read, I kept wondering when the Dogs were going to hit back but the Bays just kept on going.
1 for 1 on my tips for the year.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

Central get a belting by 95pts by the bays. Its good to see the dogs have the tables turned on them after giving out alot of belting over the years. :D

The Dogs were PATHETIC.

Right now, they aren't even a shadow of their old selves. Cannot wait until Steinberner and Schell get going again. Hopefully there will be a repeat of 2005, when they were s*#t one minute and then destructive the next.

If this turns into a time of plenty will the Snouts start to breed?

Could well be Spirit of 64, well known that a lot of so called Bays supporters (& sponsors) jumped off us when the Crows were born so they'll come back once we are successful again.......

However, I recall thumping the reigning premier in Rd 1 1995 by a similar margin`and we did **** all that year, so we will just take it one game at a time thank you very much. This is a marathon not a sprint. No point getting ahead of ourselves. The lid is staying very firmly on it!!

We don't want to be kown as April Premiers!!

(that last statement is a joke ok before you howl me down!!)

Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

well all the signs are there for the tigers to have a good year. today was the best four quarter effort they have put in for a long time, even if they did lairise a bit in the last quarter.

if the boys can maintain that pressure and intensity in every match then they should have a good year.

Here are a few stats on the win:

It was our biggest win since Round 7, 1995 when we defeated Sturt at Glenelg by 143 pts.

It was our highest score since we beat Sturt in that same game.

It was our biggest win against Centrals and our biggest win at Adelaide Oval since we beat Centrals by 125 points in Round 14, 1992

It was our biggest win against the Premiers from the previous season since we beat North by 160 points at Glenelg in Round 16, 1973. And we all know what happened in that year

One stat which I don't have but would like to know is...

When was the last time that our League and Reserves both won by at least 95 points? (Reserves won by 99pts)

That's a monster win for the Bays. Looks like Glenelg, Norwood and South Adelaide will all be big improvers in 2006 so there could be some serious competition for the top 5. Too early to tip a Central District fade out this season but I am startting to think they may not be good enough to win the flag. Could be an interesting season.

Anyone see Richard Williams pay a free to Rogers in the forward pocket, then quickly throw the ball to him?

I don't care how many players are out, every player needs to be accountable and at least give a contest

Curiously, the Meat Man was at the game. He politely declined an invitation to stand with the Snouts

Too late. There have been 4 children born to Snouts in the last 12 months. Be afraid, be very afraid!

Mate, don't hold back: the umpiring was downright WOEFUL , and Glenelg was almost exclusively the beneficiary. True, your mob's lack of discipline did them no favours, but even the most one-eyed of the Snouts reakons we got a good ride today.

After a bad start to the season last year, a lot had written the Dogs off, but they still finished the minor round on top, and then went on to win the flag again, it's far too early to count them out yet.

the wheel is starting to turn, the doggies and the eagles arent as dominant as they once were and the old forces of the comp are starting to build up and become really competitive again!!!!!

cant wait till that wheel turns the circle when the bays are on top.

Glenelg definitely got the better of the umpiring, but the team playing the ball usually does.

Early days I know, but Glenelg look much more stronger now they have kicked out/lost the players who let them down so often in the past and got a top coach.
