IN 330
AU 212

AU $2-34
IN $1-88
DR $17

India what an effort coming to Perth 0-2 in the series
LEAD 118
Par score would be about 350 for AU to chase
India would need to make 232 to set 350

A big opportunity for these blokes now to make 300 and lead by 418
And the bookies are betting stupid odds AU $2-38 way too short

if india don't win this from this position it'll be a long time before they win a test on australian soil, perhaps india could be 2 or 3 out before stumps  & change the game back but 200 should be enough on this pitch (lead of 318)
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

Sorry to hammer a point home but the aussies could have done with a "boring" batsman occupying the crease today (Dravid cough cough)

hehehe I have said nothing for days, quite simple here, India have to lead by 500 or more or the Aussies will get the runs, thought it was more poor batting today than good bowling, only thing that has been consistent and consistently bad at that this series is the umpires, is this a plot to get the third ump decision on every possible dismissal, if thats the case we will have 75 over per day

Spot On.

You and I have been pushing the Dravid wheel barrow all series and he may have started to come through for us IMO.

Imagine if Sachin had caught Roy when the chance came

Good start by Sehwag, needs to go on with it now and needs support from Pathan. Jaffer will be very annoyed falling that close to stumps after battling hard.

Big Big day for both sides tomorrow.

Agreed Pup, tomorrow is the real first test since McGrath and Warne gave it away, if they were in the side you would expect them to strangle the Indians, lets hope Ponting gets it right with Tait this innings

Once again people paying the Indians very little respect. They bowled very very well today.. Pathan and RP bowled well early and then continued it all day. Which where the poor shots in your eyes?

If India lead by 400 it will be very tough to get them. Any more than 420-450 i dont think they will win. They are always a chance but IMO that is a tally to large.

I am hoping Tait finds the ability to land 2 decent ones in a spell in roughly the same place. His work this afternoon was shocking and the last few minutes just sheer embarassing. He looks very under done I reckon and was nowhere near the other 3 so far this game .Hopefully tomorrow things change!

they did today, and will in the future- someone had to knuckle down today, bat some time and build partnerships. Good bowling though to be fair

probably right but that aint the Aussie way these days, I actually thought the counter attack by Roy and Gilly was great, like could have been bowled out for under 100 but they went out and took em on

Mike Hussey can usually play that role. Failed today but that doesn't happen too often.

true locky,
the old counterattack is one of those things that can look brilliant and gutsy or average and soft.. Probably the former today. If Symonds gets caught by tendulkar- STUMPS wouldve been preaching how irresponsible the shot was!! Funny game cricket. As they say about batting "its not how.. but how many"

No doubt RR- Hussey is fantastic at putting a high pice on his wicket- hes had a great summer

One thing I have learnt about the Aussie Cricket side over the last decade or so is never write them off when they seem down and out, they just have a habit of doing the impossible

Ponting is the only batsman in the top six who has anywhere near the experience of Dravid. This test team is the least experienced Australia have put on the park since the 80's. Thank goodness the Indian board decided not to come to Australia a little earlier and get some more match practice under Australian conditions. They gifted us that first Test with that decision.

The tennis idiots on Sunrise this morning where talking about how India has gotten 'inside our heads' and the mental side of the game and others have pointed at the selectors misreading the nature of the track. It is our inexperience that has been most telling in this test.

Professor REB is spot on
The Indians were railroaded early in the series with a lack of lead up games
Australia is in a rebuilding stage[but still winning]
Our attack is lacking experience
LEE is the only one
CLARK about 15 tests
JOHNSON /TAIT/HOGG less than 5 games

And todays report suggesting India is targeting Ponting and succeeding
Let me guess India is on top
Where was this Ponting theory all summer, and most importantly before it started

The one consoling part if India win the 3rd test is that
Anal Singh and S..theadrenanth are not in the team
And the genuine nice guys like Tendulkar/Dravid/Kumble can deserve it.

Drearyvid might be boring , but history shows when India beat Australia in tests
that Rahul has been a prolific scorer in most of those games
And yes AU could have done with a dour type of Drearyvid innings yesterday,
but they have not required that type of innings for a long long long time
