This is very funny to hear as he is easily 10-15 kg's over a respectable playing weight. He was snagged from Portland, apparently which has made zero attempt to hold onto it's most lazy and injury prone recruit of 2007. This is a bloke that did his hamstring during the second quarter, then without telling anyone went home!! True story!!. Paying blokes like this, i predict North Haven to finish in the bottom 5.

spot on with that story silent
left in the third quarter against mitcham at mitcham, used to be a star before he had operations of both of his shoulders!!!
Darren Hams surely would have been the one telling Haven's to pay him!!

Yeah, unfortunately it is a true story.

Good bloke though, if he got himself fit, would be a real asset. He was a very long way from being fit last year.

GOOD BLOKE!! If committing that act and then leaving your club at the drop of a hat, all for a bit of coin makes him a good bloke, then our opinions how good blokes act are completely opposite.

Not ignorant pal. Ignorance would be teeing off on a bloke before you knew all the facts. 8)

Joey came to our club in 2007 as he knew Darren Hams from his Port Magpie days. I believe he was getting some sort of payment, but i have no idea what (it would have been very modest, trust me). Mind you, he had recent Ressies experience at the Magpies. He was obviously carrying a bit of extra weight, and his fitness needed working on. These things definately contributed to his injury-riddled season, and he had a poor year. Im sure he would be the first to admit he didnt perform to expectations.

As for leaving at 'the drop of a hat', well, Hamsy is now at Haven, so he was always going to gravitate there. He was always welcome to stay at Portland, but has moved on. No ill-feelings from us at all.

Like i said, i have a lot of time for Joey, as i do for his brother Terry. Both great lads. You ask 99% of the players at Portland, and you would get the same response, im sure.

felch, given the facts i completely agree with you. However i was originally more interested in the fact that someone like that was getting money from a club down the road from you. ill say it again, my belief is that they are employing the wrong sort of people down at north haven.

=D> =D> Silent Bob, the wrong sort of people alright mate.
Obviously they didn't learn to much last year recruiting Salis West "thugs".
Where did that get them?
You want good honest people at your club, thats on the field & off the field.
They may even save some $$$ & get that premiership they tried to buy last year!
