And what are you basing the fact that it can't be a draw?

Australia Very Rarely play in Drawn Tests these days and the ones they do play in are usually weather affected.
No Rain forecast for rest of Test.
Only 1 draw or None in the last 10 tests at Adelaide oval.
Australia Plays to win at all times and not Draws.
India Have Shown their Intentions in this Test to Play for a Win by Picking 5 Bowlers and going in a Batsman Short. I'm sure India will Set Australia a Gettable Target to chase on the last day to give themselves a chance to win and level the series.
With the Hot summer and hot weather for this test, the Pitch will Dry quickly and Crack creating variable Bounce as the match goes on which will fasten the wicket taking Rate and therefore forcing the match towards a Result rather than a Draw.
With both teams aiming for a Win, i think the Draw is unlikely especially at the current ridiculous odds of $1.70.
India $3.75
Australia $4.50

Back Both and WIN $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

eags wrote:Personally I can't see Australia winning this test. It looks like a typical flat pooper Adelaide Oval test deck, and I can't see the Aussies having the strikepower to bowl India out twice. If the Indians can get the ball to swing I reckon they're a real chance, however with Hayden back into the Aussie lineup I'm sure that'll boost the confidence of the Aussie middle order and I can't see Australia getting skittled cheaply twice. The Indians love the short square boundaries at Adelaide Oval and I think their batsman are in good enough nick to bat the time. Only possible distraction may come from the exlusion of VVS, Tendulkar and Ganguly from the one day side and what influence this may have on these individuals??? Tendulkar loves Adelaide and I reckon he's in for a big one.

My money's on the draw, Tendulkar most runs India 1st Innings, Stuart Clark most wickets 1st innings Aus (if we bowl first).

That's a great early call eags, especially if you took the $4 or $5 the draw, now into worse than 5's on.

Home Draw Away
11:30AM Australia v India 8.00 1.17 13.00

Still think that Mals 1st post made a lot of sense & India will have to make a declaration on the last day to hold some pride & level the series. As eags stated, no Warne or Mcgrath around but me thinks that this test could turn out to be a belter if the Indians have a crack at a win.

Took a result either way @ $8 & $13

Sehwag $3.00 to top score 2nd innings. Just backed him.
20 run start on Dravid and 30 run start on all others will do me.

Also can still see a Result in this Test. India $31.00 and Australia $6.00 are good odds as it only takes a mini collapse (which is due) or a Declaration to open the Game up later in the day.

Sehwag 63* no $1.45
Tendulker 0* no $3.50

$1.45 Sehwag is Giving Money away. I Took the $3.00 at start of play so no need to back him again But Stuff It, I'm Loading up again. As Dire Straits Sang "Money for Nothing"

This pitch is amazing
For 3 days its a batting paradise
The last 2 days its very bowler friendly
History always is the indication for the future
Here are the games this decade
It should be a win the toss bat first and win pitch but ...
Sides listed first batted first

1999-2000
AU 441...8/229
IN 285....110

2000-2001
WI 391...141
AU 403...5/130

2002-2003
EG 342...159
AU 9/552 DEC

2003-2004
AU 556...196
IN 523....6/233

2005-2006
WI 405...204
AU 428...3/182

2006-2007
EG 6/551 DEC...129
AU 513............4/168

Notice the trends
1ST innings all teams make plenty
2ND innings a real struggle

THIS TEST

AU $1-75
DR $3-00
IN $5-75

My betting in the run
Back the draw early as history shows it will shorten when sides get big 1st innings totals
Lay the draw later at a shorter price on Betfair.
OR
If you have not got a Betfair account
Then when the odds of both teams are inflated later back the other 2 teams perhaps.

MOST RUNS FIRST INNINGS

Sir Richard Ponting will make plenty in the first dig at the $4
Sir Matthew Hayden is the danger

Had fun this test
Layed all 3 teams for a guarenteed profit
Draw was still my best result

Also Ponting makes most runs

Well done am kicking myself I didn't have more on the draw. We were never going to knock them over twice on that pitch with a second rate spinner!
