I'd be very surprised if the NT start in the SANFL next year.

The green quote obviously comes from another thread. I don't neccesarily believe we are in the running for Cubillo services it was just an opportune time in light of the other thread.

I think the advent of a NT team might have a bearing on contract length also, sounds like Cubillo is trying very hard for the AFL and good on him, so any team gaining his services would only be looking at a couple of years worst case scenario anyway.

Furthermore I have heard as well Norths helped him out with his education as well, the lad played in the losing grand final so he has had all the opportunites a kid could hope for.
He is rated easily in Norths best 21 but this lad or through some advisers has got greedy and put himself out to the market as well as the three blokes from Sturts who have deliberately gone behind Norths back approaching this lad.

When a club (Norths in this case), invest so much in a lad, bringing to this state, helping him with his education and accomadation get shafted like this, there should be some process in place to recooperate some of the time and money invested in him.

Norths fans, this is not about your coach or coaches etc, its about a lad who has got greedy and been approached the wrong way by Sturts, so get of the Jarman bashing and face facts that this KID has shafted your club. It's also the Sturt Football Club, all they had to do was ask for permission to talk to Josh C, this was not done.

dash61 you have just posted a whole lot of sh*t in reference to your ramblings on about NAFC paying for Cubillo's education. Cubillo came to Adelaide in 2005 on a part scholarship with Rostrevor College with his parents paying the significant rest to have their son go there.

NAFC only came into the picture when their Junior Development Officer (Neil Sanders asked Cubillo to train with NAFC. Cubillo didnt get anything from NAFC until he played senior footy. /quote]

I find it all very bemusing that you haven't even read about what you're commenting on , you may actually want to go back and read the posts again mate, no North fan blamed the coach and the person who brought up the coach was a Sturt supporter and we answered a few questions for him. Why do people just blindly post on imaginery things at times? :?

Mind you Jars not playing him in the middle would be one of the reasons he might be packing his bags.
I think the club was a bit premature in announcing this on its website considering he was still training at Prospect on Monday.
I also think there's various factors to be blamed:
1) minimal room to move under the cap
2) North's policy of rewarding long term players with the better contracts
3) Josh wanting a crack at the AFL and feeling he can best do this by playing in the middle
4) North's recruitment of more midfielders

Wedgie points out some good points regarding the contractual issues. Also one would wonder why they left it so late to secure cubillo? Was it cause NAFC had to sure up their usual significant amount of recruits first? Or that their juniors are expendable? Cubillo was uncontracted and any good negotiator would sure up players that they think are required???? ]
