Curly Seal - Hidden talent??

Watching the Aussie Millions poker on Fox last night and nearly fell off the couch when i noticed the one and only Emmanuel 'Curly' Seal finished 10th out of around 800 competitors collecting a cool $120, 000 . It was a world class field including Phil Ivey, Gus Hansen and Joe Hachem..... Anyone else see him in his red Jacket !!

This should help him recover some of the money lost in the Lucy's Light sting!! Lets hope he decides to pursue this career path as he aint much of a bookmaker

Whether you rate Curly as a Bookie or not is up to the individual but what I will say is he has most of this states blokes well and truly covered.

I know he's always fancied himself at the Poker tables.

I am keen to hear your reasoning for suggesting that Curly "aint much of a bookie" If you are referring to Sports i am not qualified to comment but agree with Dutchy that it would hard to complete with the corps who can bet online. But as an on-course race bookie G is right. Not only is Curly easily the biggest and best here but if we are to believe an article in todays Mail he would destroy the majority of the Sydney rails bookies who reportedly are reluctant to bet to lose 5k on a single wager. Curly lays bets 5 or 6 times that size regularly on any Saturday, bigger still during carnivals or feature interstate days.

First of all i praised the guy for coming tenth in Aussie millions and you get your back up over saying he should take up another occupation. Notice the smiley face next to my tongue in cheek comment...Grow up ffs and take the comment for what it is worth, just a bit of a laugh

Personally he's not my fave bookie but i certainly dont hate the guy.

bit harsh lionheart, at least curly will hold a bet that most if not all bookies cut you back on, as for the poker good luck to him he's been playing in tournaments for a while now & obviously "knows when to hold them & knows when to fold them" (who sung that mal ?) i'm all for 'knocking the bookie' but at least be fair about it

Not surprised if he finished 10th as it's just a case of having a spare $10,500 to enter to start with and then anyone with 1/2 a Brain has a chance to win it as it's just a matter of luck to get the cards at the right time.
An example of that is that Despite playing in my 1st tournament of any note, i managed to finished 7th out of 85 in a Qualifying event to the Aussie millions at the Adelaide Casino on Boxing day where a top 3 finish would have seen myself sitting along side Joe, Gus, Phil and Curly.

Not all luck JJ, is luck on the cards u get dealt, but after that the skill comes in on how u play the cards and getting the biggest return or minimising the loses on the hand u have
