reporting like a qualified journo bayman

what bayman forgot to say was:

SOUTH Australia pace bowler Jason Gillespie has suffered minor injuries in an alleged assault in country Victoria, hours after playing a state cricket match.

Gillespie was part of the South Australian side which lost a Ford Ranger Cup match to Victoria in the Latrobe Valley town of Traralgon yesterday.

A Traralgon police spokesman said the alleged assault occurred about midnight outside one of the town's nightclubs.

The South Australian Cricket Association said Gillespie travelled to Melbourne today, where he was treated for minor injuries.

The injuries were not severe enough to affect his availability for upcoming games, SACA said.

The incident is being investigated by police.

i just saw it on the news, the players were at a victorian pub last night & dizzy ended up by himself & was attacked without provocation, having received a jaw injury among other injuries he has stayed in melbourne for observation

i suggest there will be no more country games after this which is unfortunate for the country folk

Just over 4 years I think, Dizzy has always been a cautious traveller overseas, but for some reason our (not just SA but Aust cricketers and those that saw it) have had this happen to them in Victoria.

yes, but out everyone in the Redbacks team, they had to hit the friendliest and the best bloke. Im saying, why Dizzy, hes a tremendous bloke and IF they were to hit someone, i would rather it be Cosgrove, because he has more weight to protect him, Dizzy is very skinny. I see where you are coming from bayman and it is very true.

Why would this incident have any effect on whether or not they continue to program country matches ?

Just as likely to get decked outside a nightclub in the city as the country. :? :?
