Young spin bowler.......where?which one? Take a young spinner who is shite to India and Pakistan might as well be a one way ticket. They would come home so destroyed along with the side they would never play again. There is not one in this state anyway .

Well i think they should play 4 quicks and use Symonds and Clarke part-time.....

Its easy to forget that MacGill with over 200 test wickets is in our top 10 wicket takers of all time .... and at a very respectable average and strike rate.

Yes, he's old. Yes, he's struggling to get fit. But if he's fit then we have someone at a proven test class level who can tide us over for 12-18 months until a decent junior comes through.

I don't understand all the negativity about the bloke if not for Warnie being around (remember how brilliantly Stuey subbed in when Warnie was injured and suspended), Stuey would be over 400 test wickets by now and be regarded as one of our best spinners of all time. He has played in Warnie's shadow his whole career now when he finally gets a year or 2 to do his thing he gets knocked every step of the way :?

Also - could those calling for a youngster to come in actually name someone? They were talking about it on the radio today and were all struggling to name anyone other than Hogg or MacGill.

the 4th quick would not get a bowl in India ,Pak or the WI .Totally agree with Hondo .Any spinner worth a cent should be out there now with a bucket full of balls .I think we will need to buy some time until a miracle occurs .If no Stuey Macgill then Roy might have to sacrifice some batting net time and do more bowling for the team balance. Shame someone in the top 5 cant do a stopper role with some handy mediums like a Bluey or Ganguly .Macgill for me though 1st option.

Looks ok, I wouldn't have D Hussey coming in at 7 though.

David Hussey is a good call, his domestic record is terrific; bats agressively, fields well and bowls handy spinners.

Why not Ian Chappell started his test career batting at 7, and bowling a few spinners.

Where else would he bat, he can't really go in front of Symonds, Clarke and Mike Hussey, so he would have to bat at 7

Wouldn't you pick a bloke whos only 2 years older, a great player of spin and has score 250 more runs in Pura Cup cricket this year Simon Katich.....

Given the amount of retirements an experienced player may be whats required as we transition into a new side over the next two years.....plus he can bowl left arm chinamens....

However I wouldn't pick an extra batsman instead of Hogg, I'd pick McGill
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!
