Will the PLFL be concerned about our illegal betting ring like the PLCA was. Will letters be sent to all clubs warning of player involvement on a scandalous internet site? Will Fitzy be seen in the canteen reading out printed sections of Safooty to other PLFL officials as per the PLCA?

Good luck getting any info on WFC Justquietly, they only read this site to gain info, not divulge any!! Like their EP CHF Gregory that has not been mentioned once on here........

Oooh, WCP. PLFL's not that cut throat is it?
I haven't heard of that CHF yet either.
And what's an Aussie society without a bit of friendly 'odds advising' with mates? Bloody hell.

Too scared to mention him panther...DH is a frequent visitor to this site...has only just started talking to me after leaking the signing of Duncan Moore on here last year.
Can also tell u that the PLFL are very aware of this site, and transcripts of this forum have been presented at league meetings recently. A certain president of a lowly club was so concerned about the content and potential damage to his clubs reputation that a call was made to the site administrators requesting moderation or a potential law suit....that may have been about the time of tips sudden promotion.

Lawsuits are expensive...for BOTH sides.
I don't know too many clubs that could actually afford a lawyer...maybe that club's got Lionel Hutz from the Simpsons.

Justquietly you are corect - very expensive indeed...
Defamation lawsuits are based on being able to demonstrate and prove economical or financial loss as a result of defamation. A defamation lawsuit will not happen because:
a) no PLFL club (or any local club for that matter) could afford it - legal costs can be in the tens (sometimes hundreds) of thousands
b) proving economical loss is extremely difficult and is quite often not possible
c) how could you further damage the reputation and financial impact of certain low ranked clubs?

Hey, I think we all agree.
And from what I've seen, harmless fun and jibes have been poked at evry single club. NONE of this (that I have seen) damaging the reputation or financial status of these clubs, as stated by Longreach had to be the case.
If we had caused such damage, well...blow me down...we're more influential than I give us credit for.

I think the people on these committees need to consider the positives this site generates. Throughout the cricket season we copped flack from the committee for some of the comments on here. While some of the talk was crap, like WCP said it's no worse than you'd get down the pub. Like the saying goes ... any publicity is good publicity, and I am sure everyone will agree that sport over here needs as much help as it can get. You've only got to look at the stats from this thread - 64925 views - to see just how much interest this site generates - people from all over the place are talking about it.

While it is easy for the two associations to jump on the negatives this site brings, it is very quick to skim over the positives. Throughout the cricket season it was great to know just who you were coming up against before the match. I guess the same will apply during footy season. Attendance at the cricket GF was at an all-time high ... now I'm not suggesting that this site had a lot to do with it but it sure did get members of the public talking about the cricket, so if it did generate some renewed enthusiasm and got a few extra people through the gate then that is excellent. Likewise, I am sure the banter that gets talked about here during footy season may just encourage a few to go out there and have a look for themselves on a Saturday and the more people out there watching it and talking about it, the better off PL sport will be.

Wow! This thread is the most work I've done all morning!!

good speech eags, now that most of the trolls have been weeded out, and i stress most...things will be a little less controversial on here!

as you say the associations have skimmed over the positives and looked at the negatives only...would be good for someone to go over all 144 pages and write up a list of the positives and the negatives. anyone care to do that for me? would definetly make a great read and a good laugh

Whoever goes over the positives could maybe put together a "best of" package: get character voices to do ours, bit of a soundtrack as you read. Sell it at "all good record stores".Gold!
Profits NOT to go to the committees.
Dare to dream...

Yeah I read it, that's where I got the Gregory info from!! Nothing on here though, where the real truth is told by most contributors, except WAYBCKS. Perhaps we could all clam up and just post 100% rumour? The info providing needs to be a two way street.....it's just not fair
