I can read what you said footynut. I'm just letting people know who might be foolish enough to believe you that you are making it up for your own amusement. You can't come up with any basis for what you've said other than lies about who told you.

The year I came to Kilburn was 2004 and he would not accept money for playing. But I guess you heard otherwise and must be correct because you always are.

No, I know for a fact that he`stopped taking money. Where did you get that figure from, footynut? Did you calculate a figure you thought appropriate while at the front bar?

D.Ryan was never paid $250 a game, try about $150. When Delaney departed, he and other players declined to be paid, so the club had ability to recruit new players to the club, as the lost no less than 10 Premiership players that year.

After reading back a few pages all I can add is ofcourse the entire 21 are not on 250 a game but there are players in the line up that are on 250+ and others on 50-150 so its evens out you'd think. There are a number of recruits that are getting paid well and trully over the 250 threshold you mention andy, you may not want to admit and the true figures will never be known but in your case mate why dont you just humbly accept the fact your clubs going well and has some coin, like someone else posted - we are all just jealous! Id be proud of the fact that I could pay good coin, money attracts players, good clubs and management keep them. In saying that there are several players that i think you could name yourself that have been recruited this year who will not be there next year if the money runs out or if they believe they were the catalyst for kilburns improvement as they will want more. Thats one risk you run though, if you get a few players with ego's who believe they turned your clubs fortunes around personally they will want mroe cash, if they are already on good coin then you might find things tight or have to get rid of some others to keep em - which in turn starts the cycle of demise all over again.

In Andy's defence my own club took a lot of stick last year for heavy recruitment, however outsiders didnt realise we had lost as many players as we'd gained and the actual contract players we gained were actually worth less than the players we lost. However if we didnt recruit in quantity we wouldve been in even bigger strife.
Most of the players we recruited have all stayed on, we lost one to a coaching role, one to retirement/coaching and 3 others to higher bidders so the clubs doing something well.

Goodluck to Kilburn though I reckon, spend up and get back to A1s at all costs!

Good post FM, the $250 bucks was for previous years and it was just to point out the quality of player you can get for that money. Don't know what people are on this year. All I know is the ENTIRE football budget, trainers and everything included is $85k. Don't know about any egos yet either mate. I'd say we need to start winning some games before anyone can get one of those. We've got a lot of work to do before that happens.

Outrageous can mean simply a very large sum, or it can mean a ridiculous amount for the player in question.
