Sheesh. Recruit Ian Perrie and people start talking premierships

My comment was about the above quote from Tigerboss. Quite a dumb comment , not yours.

Centrals $2.60
North $5.50
Glenelg $6.00
Sturt $7.50
WWT $9.00

Forget the rest as they are all no hope of a flag.

From someone who has seen a bit of both Perrie and Grima I can tell you the Bays have really won the jackpot there.
And my mail is Perrie's struggling for fitness.
Sturt will be lucky to get one year out of Perrie being a 'handy' forward but the Bays have got a real star in Grima.
The forward they've been missing for about a decade.
Im honestly surprised Central missed out on 2 full forwards that they were chasing.

Big call , and the comment about his fitness goes quite the opposite from what I have been told. Sounds a bit like sour grapes to me. This is the second time his fitness has been dragged up. He has come out of the AFL system yet some still insinuate he's unfit ,get a grip . I hope he sticks it right up a,lot of people. As I have said I have never been a huge fan , but I hope he has an impact .

Sour grapes has nothing to do with it, most of us on here call it as we hear it (and many will testify that I call it as it is no matter if its in favour of my footy club or not) and Ive heard it from someone involved closely with the Sturt FC. Its not so much an issue with him being unfit just his body not being up to it.
Only met the guy once and he seemed a nice bloke so I wish him well.

Wedgie , everyone hear calls it as they see it or hear it ? Not sure of you point here , people look for substance in coments I would have thougt , you are talking alot of puff and wind mate. Who did you hear it from ????? You have said b4 McGowan is an astute judge , are you backing away from that now? He's got a 2 year contract , if he was that bad surely McGowan would have said no . Sour grapes has a lot to to do with it., He has left North so move on. Maybe you sholud have gone for Grima mate , you seem to like him. Unbelievable!

wedgie, your mail is quite old mate, he is doing fine at training I can assure all blues and footy fans he is doing well on the track.

i too was a little skeptical about perrie and the jury is still out but rick has been great since coming here and will use perrie the best he can and where he thinks he will have the best impact, whether that be as the extra tall, ala stephen white, or pinch hit in the ruck if needed and even fill in down back as our regular FB gregory is coming along slower than expected.

I think 2 years minimum from Perrie and then see how it goes after that as we have quite a few young guys coming through the ranks to play up forward.

your too kind Jimmy (Moderators stick together?????) Bugger em I say , dont beat around the bush mate and say what you really think. Jimmy , I am sceptical as well but my mail is he is fit ( extremely) if Wedgie & co want to have cheap shots cos there insecure about their side and coach , name their sources , otherwise move on.
Wedgie , what is your source and eaxactly what is Perries problem. Be specific mate , no circle work.

Wrong again my friend, a lot of people on this site only call it as it fits in with their agenda or stir.
Ive said before Rick is a great coach, Im not sure he'd be handling everything at Unley, if he is then there's some serious issues there but I give them more credit than you do.

Grima is an absolute gun mate, Ive seen that from watching many Geelong VFL games. Its not like Im a Glenelg fan, far from it, I'd be quite happy to see the Bays finish last but Im sure if North had enough cap room they would have gone for Grima but that was never in the equation.

As I said previously Ive met Ian once, seems a nice bloke and I wish him the best, just because I like a guy doesn't mean myself and others aren't going to post what we hear, and just for the record there's a lot of people close in at Sturt who can't/don't post on here and if they tell me something in confidence which they don't mind going out to the masses Im certainly not going to call them out and say who they are, and that goes for any club.
Crikey, if North had their way no North news would be posted on here or on the Roost but I feel obliged to pass it on.
But North isn't the issue and Im not sure why you bring them up. :?

A trainer and a board member, Im not his doctor so I don't know the exact specifics but something to do with his knee.
Hopefully its just a minor issue even though its lingered for a while and I hope Ian gets over it and plays good footy for the Blues in 2008.

And instead of casting aspersions on people or their comments, perhaps do some homework on this site, the search facility is fantastic. You can easily find our which posters post truthful comments that prove correct and which one posts comments purely to stir/troll.
Its not rocket science mate.

Oct, mate I respect your passion but I gotta say, it seems like your barking up trees. Wedgie hasn't made any outrageous comments on Perrie so leave it for the field. There's alot of Sturt supporters who are wondering where Perrie will fit into the team structure, he's at a new club after finishing a pretty good AFL career, so he's gotta prove himself for our club. That will only be evident at the end of the season. You do make a good point about Macgowan, I would think that there wouldn't be too much bull sh.t that would get pass him. Spend your time on this forum talking about footy and backing your team, by all means cut down the wanker trolls that vomit the same old diatribe over and over again. They know who they are and so do most on here. Don't get dragged down.

OCT, like cutter says, love your passion for the blues but lets focus our footy talk a bit more.

Long gone are days when I ark up just coz one poster says something i dont agree with, its not good for your health.

I look forward to seeing/hearing how perrie goes this year. I still think that Chambo and Herring will be the main focal points with perrie taking that other defender. If they lapse on either one, then that works in our favour.

go you blues! :)

Interesting the news on Perrie (thanks Wedgie/Jimmy). Hope he can perform to his potential and sees out his days in the best of health.
I at least feel a little better informed after reading the above exchanges.

All this talk about Sturt winning premierships reminds me of South Adelaide at the start of last year.........

All I can say is BEWARE Double Blue supporters as it might just blow up in your face like it did with us last year and yes, I was guilty for it with South last year. :?
Is out of change.....thanks Cambridge Clarrie!!!
