I have a bit of a project to find a baby name at the moment.

We're settled on a name if we have a girl, but can't figure a boy's name.

My wife suggested I go through my CD collection to find one. Here's some I came up with:

A friend of a friend recently called their daughter Velouria! (Going by your musical tastes you should be able to work out where that came from).

I can't believe the stupid 'celeb' names that the Sues and Daves out there are giving their kids these days. I attended a first aid course at a kindy recently and the names on the wall were beyond ridiculous. There was an Audio Storm in the Tiser the other week FFS! That should be a band, not a kid's name!

Then there's the bogan effort to name their kids after American States & Cities...

My three kids are "A", "B" & "C". Not done on purpose but as we likes the names and it was a coincidence.
If my third born was a boy the name would've started with a M (Miller).

My lads name is Brae, as we liked Brady & Brayden. Couldn't choose so just thought shorten it and viola !!

Don't want the initials Caleb Uri Nick Tommy....

At the end of the day it is your choice and do not let your Mother/Mother in Law have a say

I didn't know this, but you don't reveal that sort of thing Pup. I found out when I was telling a friend about a name my wife liked but i hated. So now it's out there, it's officially off the agenda! Very clever of me

We'll definately be looking at normal names. There'll be Shaniqua, Tierone's or any other basketball type names, you can be sure of that.

We don't want Julian Morrow after us!

SJABC - if I let my m-i-l have her way, it would be named after someone in the Royal Family. They started this conversation with us recently and everrrrrrrrryyyy suggestion was Edward, Phillip, Andrew, William etc. Aggghhhhh!

From personal experience, don't choose a boys name that is spelt similarly to a girls name, even though it's really only known as a boys name.

Shirley was a boy's name once upon a time. e.g. Sir Shirley Jeffries in SA.

Naming our first two was easy, but we had no idea with our thrid, so my wife and I combined part of our first names to make one name, (Danny & Lesley) which made Daley. Its not too wierd, and its not too common, the only other person I have heard of with that name is the British Athelete Daley Thompson. Lucky we were not named Fay and Chuck

THere was also Damien and Damian.

Also lucky that Schelly was away with Freo at the time, could have been 4 Daniels!
