Spurs 0 - PSV Einhoven 1 - Anyone want a useless Brazilian left back? Spurs will pay good money to whoever wants to take him off our hands. I don't normally like sledging players, but FFS what was Gilberto thinking....bunny.

Fiorentina 2 - Everton 0 - A LOT of work to do at Goodison.

Rangers 2 - Werder Bremen 0 - Best placed UK side in Uefa Cup.

Bolton 1 - Sporting Lisbon 1 - Tough gig for Wanderers.

I'm going to find a quiet corner and go cry for a while.....ciao..... :(     #-o :toimonster:

JTC, I guess you can add Howard Webb to your list of ballbag referees with his late penalty awarded to Stoke against your boys on virtually the last kick of the day.

Stoke 1 - Burnley 1 - ROBBED!

Other live scores:

Blackburn 1 - Fulham 1 - Jimmy Bullard free kick equalised for Fulham to secure a vital point which adds further spice to the relegation showdown. Fulham wore their 'AC Milan' shirts which actually looked great.

Reading 2 - Man City 0 - Good result for the Royals.

It's these sort of results that proves City are Rovers are punching above their weight and are not real European contenders. Pompey, Villa and the Toffees are IMO genuine European contenders. (Pompey too far from 4th, but should take a Uefa spot).

Liverpool 3 - Newcastle 0 - Kevin Keegan remains winless at the helm of the Geordies. The song 'pressure point' comes to mind. Liverpool now just 2 points behind Chavski in the league, the latter with 2 games still up their sleeves though.

You got that right DA. We went today and he was shit.
He gave everything to Stoke today and made sure they got at least a draw by giving them a penalty on 90 mins.

The wind was the winner today and as my mum used to say, that really wet rain made playing football difficult. Up until that penalty they didn't really look like scoring.

Still a point is a point.

What odds on Newcastle saying good bye to the EPL ? Watching them now and they have nothing to offer. Keegan will be gone in the new season surely. Then what. Who would want the job, especially if they drop down into the CCC.

Will be great when they come to Turf Moor though

Exactly. The game wasn't televised, but I heard all the major plays, and by the sounds, the Clarets were crucified. Why are the Clarets hated so? Surely it's in the best interests of everyone except Blackburn to see the Clarets have a crack in the EPL? You're right, though, a point away at Stoke is a reasonable result given their ladder position, but it's not the point - the Clarets should have had all three!!!

The Tyne side job is a death wish at present. Alan Shearer can take a pat on the back for having the judgement to steer clear of a doomed job. I personally don't want to see the barcodes go down because it will make the EPL a lot more shallow, just like when the Spammers were a championship side. It's a realistic threat though now, given this weekend's results and Kev has his work cut out. I agree with you though JTC, Keegan's days are numbered and that is to the detriment of the Geordie army because stability is the scarcest commodity of all on Tyne Side at present. A 3-5 year manager is desperately needed. That, and bloody give the Duke some match time!!!!!!

King Kev was supposed to turn the club around as well, the fans were over the moon when he took the job but the guy is a fool. As soon as he signed on he said he hadn't even watched a football game since he was at City, why the hell would you say that and if it's true why would you not watch any games at all yet then manage an EPL side???

He has a heart as big as a football, but like you say, he's been out of it for too long and he gets too emotional and that affects his decision making.

*I would just love it if we beat them"

I wouldn't say Burnley are hated by all DA, I just think we have had a few bad ref's this year. WE are not too popular with ITV though. They are the ones that show the CCC games, so we don't get any coverage.
This all stems from the ITV Digital collapse and Burnley kicked ITV's arse out of Turf Moor.

Hey maybe there's a conspiracy between ITV and the ref's association. Don't let Burnley win or we will have to give them some coverage

They were the featured match today though DA and I watched that 90 minute penalty 3 times in slow motion, normal spead and even the commentator sais it was a very soft penalty and Cresswell went down very easily. I'll say so, as he wasn't tackled at all, just kicked the ball to far ahead and saw it was going out for a goalkick so dropped to the floor. It gave the ref the chance he was waiting for.

Spurs 4 - West Ham 0

That has to be some kind of record for West Ham. They've lost their last 3 matches 4-0! Their goal difference has gone from +8 to -4 in 8 days - unbelievable.

Will post a few pics from the game later, but must apologise in advance as they are shite.

JTC, agree that your lot have had some shocking reffing decisions this year. Realistically, it could cost them a playoff spot at years' end.

Other EPL results today:

Wigan 0 - Arsenal 0
Sunderland 0 - Everton 1

Get in you Clarets. 1-0 over Charlton. Now within 1 point of 5th!

Great win by Liverpool - they definitely wanted it more. Torres is class.

4 English sides in the last 8. Hopefully the draw is kind and at least 2 sides are playing European competition.
