Yeah it was, though some players were keen to have a hit up against Blacks, but unfortunatly it was cancelled by the President.

Shade factor could come into it depending on surroundings. At west croydon our trial has been moved to 6pm tonight and by 630 - 7 half the oval clubside is in shade.

Looks a bit cloudy at the moment. If it hangs around and keeps the sun of you guys it might be a bit cooler on the park. I cant recall GG's oval much but I think Harpers field will have its fair share of shade, correct me if im wrong.

It was bloody hot for the first 3 quarters. Not too bad for the last quarter and for the A grade. We played 8 x 10 minute quarters in both games. It was a good hitout for both clubs and blew some of the cobwebs out

Carr played last nite. Was servicable across half back
Overall we were a bit dissapointed in the performance. Weren't as slick as we were hoping skills wise. Seemed to be working alot harder for our goals. A touch inneficient but you can expect that at this stage of the year as the cob webs get blown out. A good win though it should have been much more. Hope Valley look a much better outfit than last year just quietly as well.

Scoreline roughly
11.14 - GG
8.10 - HV

Still no sign from the lad from lucindale. Getting him onboard was only a maybe. Not sure if i expressed it that way earlier. Im not that much in the know regarding signings etc. All second hand info. Still no name as yet.

I'm sure both sides had a few players missing too. I know we did. I had a quick chat with your A grade captain who seemed pretty happy watching with a beer in his hand (even though they lost their cricket grand final) and was an obvious omission. I expect both grades to be much stronger for the next trial..
