Crows & Power shouldn't count.
Do you think Non-South Australians EVER have a chance @ captaining these teams?

Coached North, but didn't captain them. Schimmelbusch was cap in '81.

Are you sure Luke Darcy was captain at the Bulldogs? I don't think he was, but I could be wrong.

I was wrong, I should have checked first. After checking their records, see below:-

March 2005 – Luke Darcy is selected to replace Chris Grant as the new Captain at the Club's Family Day, with Brad Johnson being selected as Vice Captain.

Norm Clark (North Adelaide) - Coached Carlton 1912,1914-18
(* not a captain but as far as I know the first South Australian to coach a VFL side)
Bernie Smith (West Adelaide) - Geelong 1954
Matt Rendell (West Torrens) - Fitzroy 1985-87
Ralph Rogerson (North Adelaide) - Fitzroy 1965-66
Martin Leslie (Port Adelaide) - Brisbane 1990 (Part season)
