Was thinking......who from the SANFL has captained an AFL/VFL club ?
Here is a start...

Norwood...... Scott Burns...........Collingwood
Tom Harley...........Gelong
Mathew Primus.......Power
Glenelg Steve Kernahan.......Carlton
Chris McDermott.....Adelaide
Port Adelaide Nathan Buckley......Collingwood
Mark Williams..........Collingwood

Crows & Power shouldn't count.
Do you think Non-South Australians EVER have a chance @ captaining these teams?
If one person does it, it's insanity. If millions do it, it's religion.

Darcy captained the dogs in 2006, but missed most of the year with a knee injury I think

I was wrong, I should have checked first. After checking their records, see below:-

March 2005 – Luke Darcy is selected to replace Chris Grant as the new Captain at the Club's Family Day, with Brad Johnson being selected as Vice Captain.

(* not a captain but as far as I know the first South Australian to coach a VFL side)
Bernie Smith (West Adelaide) - Geelong 1954
Matt Rendell (West Torrens) - Fitzroy 1985-87
Ralph Rogerson (North Adelaide) - Fitzroy 1965-66

I hope so it, may have given him something to whinge about !! But that was a long time ago .............oops nothings changed.
