Very much so. But as good as he has been, would you play him in front of Bracken, Lee or Clark if you had the chance. The truth is you wouldnt. Not fair but life isnt fair

NSW 281
VIC 0/17

DOUGGIE WOULD HAVE HAD A WICKET BY NOW

I would have played Douggie and probably left out LEE

Peter SIzzLE took a 5 for...brilliant as he has been all year when uninjured

I really love doing it 2 balls after I posted that Hussey was gone for 22, white now gone for 19, game starting to even up, maybe we may just finally have a classic final

VIC now at 4/167

Hodge 68*

Hodge out now. Bowled without offering a stroke, what was he thinking?!

Beautiful delivery from MacGill though at the ground named after him ;)

NSW back in it, what a great Final it's been so far.

NSW on top now. Great work by MacGill to get them back into it and Lee just bowled a beauty, quick and rising delivery which Siddle could only glove behind. Top glovework by the champ Haddin too.

7/193 or so

NSW 281
VIC 216
NSW 0/23 STUMPS DAY 2

2 Disgraceful descisions have runied another Cricket match

THE DAVE OUT 22
_______________
The ball bowled by the Pup struck THE DAVE on the pad
The trajectory of the delivery was clearly missing leg stump
Umpire Parry gave out THE DAVE
The ball was missing LS by about a foot
A few minutes later it was acknowledged that THE DAVE was given out Caught at slip :butthead:
This was a big wicket
THE DAVE V NSW
1097 RUNS @ 73-13 before today
VI were 2/127 at the time and never recovered

PETER SIZZLE disMissAL
___________________

Caught behind with a ball that hit his shoulder not his bat
This was a massive turning point to the game as well
Brett Lee the WORST performed Pura Cup bowler 2007/2008 got his first PC wicket with that disMissAL
Leading into the game LEE had these figures in the PC
0/188
Before he got SIDDLE out his figures were
0/253
now its 4/258

There was another incident today with JEWELL of the rile !
CLARK was making JEWELL look silly today and outclassed him without taking his wicket
After another appeal v JEWELL the voice of Stewy Macgill could be heard.
" Keep your mouth shut Stuart, theres 2 umpires out here and your not one of them."
Oh boy if only Macca knew about the later decisions

THE MATCH
__________

A lead of about 400 likely and NSW unbeatable ?

NEXT TEST MIDDLE ORDER BATSMAN
_________________________________
After viewing this match THE KAT must play before THE DAVE
THE KAT [and HODGEY] looked many classes above the rest
THE DAVE is just Dave attack attack attack, but in Test matches ...but great to watch !

1. Simon KATICH is a better 5 day cricket prospect than THE DAVE.
2. THE DAVE is a better limited overs option, but deserves a chance.
3. Shane WATSON looks a test batsman the way he bats.
4. ???

One of the biggest turning points Mal was Hodge deciding he didn't want to use that block of wood in his hands. He was using it pretty well, timing it well and seeing it well... until he decides to let one go straight onto his stumps. That completely shifted the game NSW way. Also Ronald McDonald, I didn't even notice he was out there for a while, he didn't offer much support to Hodge and was pretty happy to get down the other end with the tail there.

Of the 25 Shield Finals only 5 have been won by the away team

Of those 5, in 3 the away team batted first

Of the remaining 2, the away team batted second but managed a good lead on the 1st innings

So if the Bushrangers were to win it would be the first away team to win batting second and not having a first innings lead

In other words, I think the fat lady is preparing herself  :D

Yeah quite clearly the dismissal of gun batsman Peter Siddle has ruined this great game of cricket mal you goose! As for the Dave, perhaps the lb NOT given earlier to Bracken should be some compensation for the visitors? It evens out pretty much in the end as we all know. As for Hodge, one of the worst players of spin going around. A great decision to play a couple of tweakers in this match. I remember in one Franger game The Kat brought on Hauritz and two balls later bye bye hodgey. You can bet Londinium to a Hallet Brick that the Blues skipper didn't forget that.

Nice to see you are thinking of me Gee Dubya. Let's hope that tomorrow the year of the Kat can be completed with yet another ton for the skipper so he can banish the truly awful Bevan from the perch of Moo Moo run scorers.

How good a player does Phil Hughes look. Only 19 as well. Massive prospect for Australian cricket.

He has been fantastic today, just brought up his maiden first class century. The youngest to ever make a ton in a final. Brilliant innings, well done son.

3/314 now. Clarke on 61, Thornely yet to open his account.

McGain and White have the wickets.

Lead of 375 and the Shield is on its way back to its usual home.

NS 281
VI 216
NS 5/352

NS only lead by 417 with 5 wickets left and the Moo moo cup is thiers
I think they will be bowled out and then take the 10 Victorian wickets
I hope NSW do bowl out the Vics it would be a better feeling than drawing this game
HOWEVER
NSW set VI 450 odd a few years ago when THE DAVE made a double ton ....and gotem !

THE KAT

Needed 51 runs in todays dig to break Bevos record of 1464 in a season
He made 92 and was RUN OUT !
THE KAT 1506 RUNS
The only man ever to make 1500+ in a p/c season

BETTING

BETFAIR
NS $1-04
VI $70
DRAW $11
