because sturt haven't won at the adelaide oval since they re-did the playing surface with the 'ground overhaul', they even threw away a 50 point lead there as well in one of the games they lost (v north) & they imho have no confidence in playing at the famous ground atm

not too mention a two and a half goal lead at the 14 min mark of the last qtr in teh Elimination Final...

Just in case in Sturt supporters had forgotten.... :D :D

Sturt1 where are you?? Despite what you have written on DB.org you haven't been banned you are welcome back anytime...
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I hope no Centrals games are programmed at Adelaide Oval (until finals that is).

I'd say there'd be no chance of the Anzac game being moved from Elizabeth. It'll be great to have this game at Elizabeth, and I've been looking forward to this game at Elizabeth since they announced it.
They don't keep me here because I'm gorgeous and 5'10

No it wouldn't have. The place is a dump and the lights are barely stronger than the reflection off the moon's surface...

Well as it was programmed for a Saturday afternoon I don't think that was too much of an issue Fatal and give me Pale on Tap over XXXX Gold anyday, that's what's important!

How about we move it to Alberton and all meet up in the Bowls club then? :D

Ah, thought it was a night game. Still a dump though and worse still you could see it in all it's glory during the day...

Could think of nothing better than watching the SANFL boys go round from the salubrious comfort of the Port Bowls Club - you can get Pale there too!

Thats the main reason I would like to see it played at AO.

Mrs Ian's grand father fought in WW1 and WW2 he was too young and lied about his age to get into WW1, changed his name and lied about his age again to get into WW2 as he was too old. A couple of the old diggers that he fought with in WW2 come to Adelaide every year for the march and stay at my inlaws place, it would be great to just slip into AO after we've watched the march and payed our respects (and had a few ales at the parade ground) rather that have to rush off to Elizabeth.
Wedgie, you're all for the game to stay at Elizabeth, would you be so eager if you were actually going?

Get it right, you mean relocate to North Adelaide.

My bad   relocate their home games to ADELAIDE OVAL, North Adelaide.... :D :D

That's better, nothing makes more sense, than North Adelaide playing in North Adelaide.
Its just a pity there's not a decent ground there, time to build one. :D

Maybe you blokes could cut back on the spending in player payments and build that $1billion mutli purpose stadia the state so desperatly requires?

Elizabeth has nothing to do with it, Im just keen for the programming to stay exactly as it is, let's face it, it was pretty well known around the traps that the Adelaide Oval redevelopment was never going ahead, the game is only one month out and would have put a lot of planning into it.
Central already have one less home game than North this year, why should they give up another? A couple of years ago a win or two meant a big difference to Central in where they ended up on the ladder, the same might happen this year.
People talk about tradition but that's codswallop and I saw just as many diggers at Thebarton last year as Ive ever seen at Adelaide Oval, who knows, there may be some diggers out Elizabeth way who have only got to watch the game on TV in the past but could make it to Elizabeth Oval, I know out there has a large contingent of both current and past defence personel.
Once the draw's made, leave it alone, people plan their year aroudn it no need to stuff it up.

The stupid part about it is this game shouldn't be on Anzac Day anyway as North play on the Sunday previous, it should be on Saturday afternoon at the earliest.

I hope Kris Grant and the Dogs stand tall on this issue, they have my backing 100% as should they any reasonable person.

I should have elaborated, it was never going ahead in 2008 with the plans the SACA had.

Anyway, Im not sure how those stands could be torn down, hoe the hell aren't they heritage listed yet any hippies shed on any street corner seems to be heritage listed? :?

Ironically one of the small amount of things Adelaide Oval has going for it is its looks and the SACA are slowly but surely eroding that.
