What is the WORLDS biggest purpose built Football (aka Soccer) stadium ? and Capacity ?

Sorry about the red herring earlier - just when Haz mentioned JP II as the third longest serving... The only two longer than JP II have been Pius IX and Peter. Peter served 34 years but is not recognised in some books, Piux IX served 31 years, 9 months. Sorry about the pedantics but I don't have the nickname 'The Pope' or 'The Pontiff' at West Torrens for nothing! :wink:

Got 'em both anyway BDP...bye the way spent a weekend up on the river Midura..looking GOOD !! Couldn't believe how much water was around...

Could it be Rungrado May Day Stadium in North Korea? I believe the capacity there is close to 150,000.

The Rungrado IS the World's biggest stadium capacity wise, but not PURPOSE BUILT, for Soccer.
Also eliminate the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata India too, for the same reason.

The stadium I am after sits third on the list of biggest stadiums, capacity....
