I won't be eating read meat because im catholic. I don't go to church or anything but its just a family thing that we do, so ill continue the trend. I personally don't think its a big deal if you do or don't eat red meat, its more of a thing thats been past down through the generations of your family.

Its getting lesser significance each year. Maccas,KFC and Hungrys dont open because no one buys anything.....I know it's a small sacrifice but if you or me died under the same circumstances (By no way am I comparing myself to jesus   ) the last thing i would want is for others to go without any day of the year. Not to mention that I also beleive all the worlds major wars are started by religion, but thats another story (Yes I know im going to hell)

To be honest, virtually no wars have been 'started' over religion. Men wanting power and greed have just hidden their reasons behind 'religion' to make it sound good. For instance, the Israel/Palestine and Irish/English wars have nothing to do with religion in reality and yet have it as a cover. Both are attempts to gain land.

... and to answer your question. I won't be eating red meat. Tis a custom I follow - not much to sacrifice for two days a year.

We have 3 other families, plus another couple coming over for BBQ tea, the couple, like us will be eating red meat (all non Catholic) the other 3 families are Catholic, 1 will be eating red meat, the other 2 I will be cooking fish on the BBQ for them. 1 of the families do not eat red meat for a week, the other just Good Friday.

Which is why more people are going back to church, including a large percentage going to Hillsong and the like. Plus there is a World Youth Day in July, with the Pope in attandance.

It is true that less people feel they need a 'God' in their life when everything is going well. However, if they have a disaster in their life....

Just defrosting the lamb chops to fire up on the BBQ at lunch, might have a Roast for tea or perhaps something else on the BBQ. No fish or vegies for me today.

Well, I was always taught not to eat red meat today but we have very religious relative staying with us who says they have always done it and, in their opinion, the red meat abstinence is something that non-religious people do so they can pretend they are getting in the spirit of Easter

Maybe it depends on the Church?
