crowd guesses for the bay sunday ?

Postby bayman » Sat Apr 29, 2006 1:30 am

with about 7,000 at norwood i was wondering what would be considered a good crowd for sundays game ? i think it should attract about the same (7,000) given good weather etc what do you guys think ?
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

Bays fans are always hard to work out, last year I saw probably less than 100 Bay fans at Prospect but a couple of weeks later probably saw more than 2000 at the Bay Oval.
I reckon there'll be 2000+ North supporters so I reckon anything between 3500 and 5000.

I was hoping since Glenelg had 2 weeks coming into this game that the Glenelg Football Club would go all out in promoting it and somehow incorporate the 20th anniversary since their last premiership but I've been extremely disappointed as I haven't heard a thing, there's some people down at Brighton Rd who aren't earning their keep IMHO.

The last time Glenelg played in front of a crowd of more than 4000 was Round 11 2003 against Eagles at Glenelg - 4215.

This is excepting the the double header two rounds ago.

I emailed the Marketting Manager about this game, noteing the postings on this site but nothing is planned until next time North play at Bay in August which is a shame, more money we could got off Rooster supporters. We will now probally run out of beer and have to pay Wedgie.

Glenelg don't often play in front of more than 3,200 at home and the bandwagon won't be rolled out just yet. A win against Port would help , its been a while.

I hope 2,000 rooster fans , 1,500 going for the bays and 200 netural fans.

I'd surely be comfortable in saying that crowds this year would be up after taking a slight dip last year?

You can thank North for that - the year the "jars led revival" started and our bandwagon was really gathering steam!

It's looking like being an ok day, the crowd should be good, as well as myself, Mrs Ian, and the 2 jnrs, weve got an extra 11yo old Crows supporter whose never been to an SANFL game going, he thinks he supports West (only to be different to his Sturt  supporting Dad, Mum and Brother), by the end of the game we'll have another convert :D
