Bugger width, I'd go for leg room unless you are a "wide" unit, book a exit row seat or Bulkhead and the leg room is great.

Via Singapore, Changi is a great Airport heaps of facilities, and not as far as Honk Kong for example. Two day in Singapore is good, plenty of last minute shopping and good hotels. Cheap and easy to get around too...

Everyone has different stories but SQ for me !!

My shoulders are about 50mm wider overall than the standard seat, and my elbows stick out more, which is a problem for the person next to me, so my wife doesn't fancy it on a long haul.. :(

Went to sydney last Thusday. We booked a 8:40am flight. The only other choice was 6:20am.
They have now cancelled their 8:40 flight so put us on the 6:20.
Got a call at 12:30am the morning of the flight to say the plane wont leave till 11:25am.
Thought id have time to park the car at the long term carpark. Without notice they departed at 11:10. I only just made it.

Or Tiger Airlines.

Had a flight Launceston-Melb then Melb-Adelaide, both sectors were using the same plane which had a 30 min turnaround in Melb. At the check in desk in LCN, I asked to be booked through to ADL with luggage checked the whole way and boarding passes issued for Melb-Adl. Answer? We dont do that at Tiger - you have to disembark, collect your bags, re-check yourself and your bags and then re-board. And BTW, check-in on all flights closes 45 minutes before departure.

So, to cut a long story short the plane took off before we even got our bags and we had to fork out $600 to get back to ADL that Sunday night.

Thanks Tiger!

We thought we might break the flight and have a couple of days somewhere rather than do it all in one go, and would welcome suggestions from those with experience.

I'd say steer well clear of British Airways these days if you can...unless of course you're a share holder (doubt they have any trouble) or you live under the illusion that they are still able to get you and your luggage from A to B.
