In support of Cosgrove

Postby Dogwatcher » Mon Apr 07, 2008 11:16 am

I'm not Mark Cosgrove's biggest fan, in fact I'm disappointed in what he's served up so far for someone with so much talent.

But, at this point in time I reckon it'd be nice if we got off his ever widening back and gave him a crack.

Most would concede that this winter will be telling on whether he continues to have a future as an elite sportsman. His efforts this winter will dictate his future as a cricketer.

He's training with Salisbury. Doing something so open shows he is keen to commit.

Instead of having a crack at him, which has now become the established norm, let's get behind him and support in his quest to show us the talent he really has.

C'mon Cossie!
You're my only friend, and you don't even like me.

Couldnt agree wth you more. Nothing is going to be achieved by more critisism of him and his fitness at this point of the year, just wait until he shows up after the off season.

If Cossie wants to hang the pads up and have a proper kick he's more than welcome, skills are excellent, I'm sure we could slot him into the A Grade...

Lehmann may have been older when selected for National duties but he dominated domestic cricket from the age of 18.

True, but he was a better cricketer in his later years. Wonder how he would have turned out if he was from nsw? A chunky Bradman

Now u guys better lay off Cossie. I got grilled by DW 4 less than what u guys just laid out. Watch out, he's on the warpath :axe:

Lehmann was a brilliant cricketer throughout his whole career, i would disagree he was better in his later year. He played better for Australia in latter years but his performance at State level was consistently brilliant throughout his whole career.

Well to the extent he played better for Australia, yes he was better, but he would have played 5 times more State cricket than Test Cricket, and that is the one variable that he can safely be judged on. He also didn't get a lot of opportunity in his early years in Test cricket.

That's okay for people who aren't overweight and looking to break into the Australian team.

Great thread DW. 3 posts supporting Cossie, 8 off topic and 7 bagging him. Actually, better make that 8. Cossie is a lazy useless twat and should go on the Biggest Loser like his namesake.
