With all the big guns playing tomorrow, the focus was on the relegation battle and some key games.

Bolton 1 - 0 West Ham
Kevin Davies was the hero for Bolton against West Ham, firing home from close range two minutes after the interval after Robert Green and Jonathan Spector got in each other's way.
The opportunity came from Kevin Nolan's corner, which arrived after Green tipped Davies' header onto the top of the bar.
Goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi had to be at his best to keep the Trotters in front, producing a breathtaking stop to tip Dean Ashton's superb overhead kick over the bar.

Reading 0 - 2 Fulham
Goals in either half from Brian McBride and Erik Nevland brought Fulham to within four points of safety and leaves Reading glancing nervously over their shoulder.
McBride bundled home the first from close range in the 24th minute, getting on the end of Simon Davies' dangerous low cross.
And Nevland made it 2-0 in the second minute of added time, beating Marcus Hahnemann with a low drive after being released by Davies, although the goalkeeper really should have done better.
It was Fulham's first success on their travels since September 2006 and could not have come at a better time for Roy Hodgson's men.

Birmingham 1 - 1 Everton
Mauro Zarate scored a priceless equaliser for Birmingham seven minutes from time against Everton, who had gone in front through Joleon Lescott in the 78th minute.
The Toffees defender nodded home from under the crossbar after Lee Carsley's clever chip to the far post had been headed goalwards by Aiyegbeni Yakubu.
But Argentinian Zarate, who is fast acquiring cult status at St Andrews, curled home a stunning free-kick from the edge of the area.

Derby 0 - 6 Aston Villa
Derby's problems against Aston Villa began in the 25th minute when Ashley Young's curling free-kick was completely missed by Carroll under pressure from Olof Mellberg and drifted into the back of the net.
And it was 2-0 with Villa's very next attack as Alan Stubbs could only hook Gareth Barry's ball into the box towards his own goal where Carroll slid in to clear, only to find Carew on the edge of the area who drilled it back in with interest. The ball flicked off Gabriel Agbonlahor, who was stood in an offside position behind Carroll, on its way into the net, but the goal was allowed to stand.
Petrov then added a stunning third before the break, chesting down Carroll's weak clearance just inside the Derby half before finding the top corner with a sumptuous half-volley.
The home defence went AWOL again in the second period, with Carroll's save from Agbonlahor to no avail as Barry was on hand to tap home.
Agbonlahor added a fifth in the 76th minute, bursting clear to fire a low shot across Carroll and into the bottom corner before Marlon Harewood completed the rout five minutes from time.

Sunderland 1 - 2 Man City
Sunderland's run of three successive victories was brought to an unexpected end by Manchester City at the Stadium of Light.
A previously forgettable encounter exploded into life in the final 11 minutes with Mike Riley pointing to the spot after Daniel Sturridge went down in the box despite an apparent lack of contact from Nyron Nosworthy. Elano stepped up to roll home the penalty, only for Dean Whitehead to volley the Black Cats level soon after from Andy Reid's cross.
But there was still time for Darius Vassell to scuff the opener beyond Craig Gordon after Elano had opened up the previously impressive home defence.

Tottenham 1 - 1 Middlesborough
Middlesbrough moved a step closer to being certain of preserving their top-flight status with a point against Tottenham at White Hart Lane.
Spurs went ahead in the 27th minute when Jermaine Jenas found Dimitar Berbatov, who showed great skill to flick the ball up and then cross to the back post where Aaron Lennon's shot was turned into his own net by the unfortunate Jonathon Grounds.
But Boro levelled after the break when Stewart Downing picked the ball up 35 yards out and unleashed a long-range effort which deflected off the head of Jenas and beyond the helpless Radek Cerny.

Portsmouth 0 - 0 Newcastle
The game that looked sure to deliver goals, Portsmouth v Newcastle, proved the only encounter to finish scoreless. Newcastle were lucky to escape a penalty appeal when Kanu's shot hit Steven Taylor's foot and bounced up and hit his arm.
Both sides could have won the game in the second half, but Michael Owen could only find David James from point-blank range while Jermaine Defoe was unable to find the back of the net with two half-chances.

Lfc - rOVERS

9mins - Rovers denied a goal for offside.......tight call but it was central and he had a team mate next to him who was definitely offside so a reasonable call from the linesman.

14mins - Gerrard goes down in the box* but good defending by Friedel.

17mins - Gerrard once again just outside the area gets push from Chamba.....probably a free kick.
nothing given. RAFA furious
27mins....Gerrard scuffs a shot,, pretty sure it was goal bound but came off the rovers arm for a corner........GOAL KICK GIVEN !!!!!!!

31 mins.....Rovers attack down the right....Skrtel low open stud tackle....surely a yellow.......no a free kick...

34 mins...good save by Reina to deny rovers..

LFC attacking heaps but as has been the norm down the years.......Rovers are frustrating at Anfield

38mins - Torres uses his pace down the left and gets a free....gerrard to take and its..a header from Kuyt thats wide....

43 mins - Babel shoots and goes into row Z seat 31....

Bentley having a quiet game so far, maybe he's checking out the surroundings for next season?

HALF TIME......LFC plenty of chances.....Rovers 1 decent chance......REF quite sensible but maybe a little TOO lenient on occasions.

47 mins - good ball by Kuyt to Torres but the corner cleared, break by Rovers but offside......
stright upfield to Gerrard who crosses but well saved by friedel....the man who cost roy evans 1mill yet only made 32 appearances.

49mins - Skrtel foul in a dangerous position,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,punched away by Reina and cleared by 'pool

50mins - Gerrard cuts out wide and shoots.......headed wide for a corner.headed out again........blackburn clear

51 mins - STUPID foul by Kuyt to rovers.....27 yards out..pederson shoots well but saved by Pepe

54 mins - Corner to 'pool gerrard takes..headed out and shot by Lucas but wide.

56 mins.....babel does some great work down the left and gets a free for 'pool 19 yards out. gerrard takes a good shot and well blocked by friedel but offside to lucas.

RAFA ready to bring on benayoun

58 mins - Benayoun on for Babel......Babels had a good 1st season but showing signs of taking its toll..........he'll be a gun as an attacker I reckon

59mins - after several blocked shots on goal...gerrard weaves through the rovers defence and scores a goal.........without him 'pool would be nothing....his will to win is head and tails above most of his team mates.

Liverpool 1 - Blackburn 0

63mins.......gerrard shoots and deflected for a corner......the man is on fire for his 300th league appearance........headed out by rovers but brought back in by gerrard but wide...rovers kick

Emerton complaining to the ref.......probably stating to him that he isnt really of EPL standard and should take that into consideration. maybe so he can win his next aussie cap with another useless contribution.

65 mins - Pederson shoots after good work and its about 5 metres wide

67mins - corner to rovers......headed out by carra and bentley shoots into the stands.

70mins......game slowed a little........throw in to 'pool.upfield to rovers and roberts brought down.........exactly the same as the gerrard incident in the 1st half.......ref waves play on.........rovers ready to bring on McCarthy and Dunn. good attacking thoughts from Hughes.

71 mins......Skrtel brings down Roberts.......clumsy but a long way from goal so a yellow is issued...

the resulting free is ping ponged out eventually

74 mins - arbeloa is fouled by dunn..crossed in by gerrard..cleared but alonso gives it back,,gerrard and lucas 1-2 then alonso...shoots over
Moores and Parry alone in the stands

79mins - great free from Bentley.just wide of the post....LFC need another goal

80 mins Torres goes down in the box......Emerton didn't get the ball but a debatable shout i think......there was some contact but play on is fair i think.

81 mins - Torres scores with a header........his 30th for the season,from 42 starts,,,,,,,,,,,,guess who passed it ??????YES............STEVE GERRARD GERRARD

LFC 2- Rovers 0

83 mins LFC tearing strips off rovers now........Torres gets subbed for Voronin who apparently doesnt like the health care, schooling and weather iin the country but assures us he is happy at LFC
86 mins - McCarthy does well and shoots just wide...... rovers starting to lift a little

87 mins nelson intercepts a good attack by Kuyt.
Riise replaces Alonso........hope Riise gets a good look at the stands because he is GONE at seasons end......ALONSO also a possibility as he is rumoured to be unhappy in UK as well

HEHEHE - Riise and Voronin link up and Voronin scores a gutsy tap in.....
3-0 to the pool............deserve it though

Santa Cruz scores a great goal for rovers...........terrific player he is and its 3-1 now after 92 mins

GAME OVER 3-1 to liverpool........Steve Gerrard MOM by MILES..................
Benayoun made a big difference when brought on.
Emerton played his usual crap game..........why he gets a socceroo guernsey is beyond me.........HOPELESS.....

That's why even as a supporter of another club, I love Stevie G. The bloke is amazingly good and has one of the biggest tickers in world football IMO.

The Man U v Arsenal game is great for the neutral.......

The 2 best passing teams in the UK are head 2 head and it's a great game to watch.

Arsenal have had the better of the 1st 25 mins and its 0-0 ATM.

Arsenal are playing like they did before xmas,,,man u are playing a little on the back foot for something different.only cause LeArse are playing so well....

2 best teams in the Uk are playing tonight for mine.......chelsea are dreamers

Finally, Hargreaves has done something good. Cracking free kick, Ronaldo-esque to ping it over the wall with a big dip, as Man U come from behind to lead 2-1 in the 76th.
