The uncertainty about team final placings seems to imply that. Otherwise I would have been reasonably hopeful of a win this time.

S Mitchell and T Boyle - late withdrawals...
good chance for the Crows to control the middle with S Mitchell missing.
Port Power has 16 years history at Football Park...

The Port Magpies have 40 years history and the two shall never be confused or combined

after last nights port v brisbane match, i wonder whether the crows' legs will be heavy in the 2nd half as seems the case with port last night
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

Franklin was good. Got 6 in the end, he was really on in that period in the second term. But it was more the delivery that was killing the crows. The hawks midfield got on top and the skills in moving forward made sure it didnt matter who was standing him. Thought Hodge, Batemen, crawford and co really were on top today.

Hawks let run all over the park like unregistered dogs on Hanson Road all day, Crows have no real forward structure and rely on that fast movement into the forward lines, kill that side of their game and you win easy, could be a long year for Craigy and his band of merry boys

No not totally. Beaten by a team that has a better ruck and midfield division with a very good forward line. I think Tippet needs to spend more time down forward to try and stretch the opposition defense a bit. That would mean using Maric in the ruck with Griffen.

Hawthorn were far too good. We looked very flat and slow today.

That is true, Port Looked to run out of legs last night and the eagles were also flat. Maybe its a let down that teams have after such a fierce rivarly game the preivous week?

Lost to a very good team today...

Looked very flat and didn't have the committment to run back and forth at the same level as the Hawks., who are the best at the business at running in waves at the moment.

I don't like giving players a hard time, but surely it's time to go Rob Shirley. He is not quick enough, can't kick over 35m and doesn't use the ball well, surely his spot would be in serious danger when Knights and Reilly are back....
