Getting the tips in early this week..... Looks like another week of absolute blowouts is on the way apart from one game. The only one game to go watch this week if you really want to see a close and good game it would have to be Echunga Vs Nairne.

Torrens Valley Vs Callington - TV by 15 Goals +
Kersbrook Vs Macclesfield - Kersbrook by 30 Goals +
Echunga Vs Nairne - Too close to call, Maybe Echunga by a few
Gumeracha Vs Kangy - Kangy by 20 Goals +

Interesting game at Cally Saturday. The Eagles have really improved, although it was impossible to recognize anyone due to lasts year's team being named in the Budget. Bond didn't appear to be there and Saliba unidentifiable if he was. Cally had too many at the fall of the ball too often and at times crowded like a junior team. They seemed almost random in the forward lines and missed many obvious paths to goal from a spectator's point of view, resulting in the margin being much bigger than it should have been. Hardly any audible talking, presumably because they didn't know each other. They will worry a lot of sides this year if they can gel and no-one wanders off while waiting for it to happen.

Echunga will be the place to be this week. My name is already on a centreline seat.

I think it will be a big test for both clubs this week. Echunga has been pretty low key for the pre-season and having played an undermaned Macclesfield It was pretty hard to judge where they will finish. Nairne a lot of talk has been following them (Are all the injured players back playing for Nairne yet or are they still a bit away?) This week will give a good indication of what the 5 may look like. Nairne Vs Echunga have alway been very entertaining games to go watch I think the last two times they played last year it was only 10 - 15 points in it.

nairne need to win this week for their own self confidence, various people have talked them up over summer and if they go down this week and be 0-2 and have Meadows/kersbrook the following weeks, it could be a hard road back.

Kersbrook look like they WILL have a 'C' grade now, after Lobey told them that they have enough players. Kersbrook have by far the easiest first 4 rounds of the year in Gums, Cally, Maccy and Nairne.

Personal reasons is work related. Justin Carr has taken over, probably a mistake but else can you do at such short notice.

Is the Flu passing through Echunga Land or a couple of injuries, did not seem to be too many out to training last night when we drove past late. Is the Gumeracha Coach left already if it was due to work he must have seen that it was going to happen some time ago.

Cally not the greatest club to deal with when trying to get one of their players cleared. Wouldn't return phone calls, rejected the clearance for bogus reasons, just very very unprofessional all round. Most clubs are reluctant to let players go i understand, but coming up with he owes money as a reason when he was getting paid plenty, is just plain arrogance.

Michael Soden ex Norwood Juniors, ex Gumeracha, ex Barossa Districts, is now signed with Kersbrook. However don't know if he'll be donning the Boots this season as last I heard from him he was on a long O/S Holiday. Would be very handy for the Brookers if he's a mid season pick up.

Cally are never easy to deal with in admin circumstances. They just persist in cutting their own throats most of the time.

Its not a great sign for the comp with all bar one game looking to be a one sided affair. I have not played in this comp for some time although remember having a much more even competition. Is this a case of financial teams spending up to stay with the TV, Kangarilla? Why are other teams being left behind?

I think money is some of the issue footy_pie but there must be other factors. You would be amazed at the $ being dealt out at some of the lower clubs.

I thought Kersy paid nothing or very little to their players?

re the money tree..

T/V all up putting out $60K plus..best recruit on $750 p.w.

Kangas dont pay as much but i no Smelt dont go anywhere for nothing..

other teams havent got the spondoooli and arnt stupid enough to waste their money..

my pick..kangas to go thru undeafted until the finals when T/v might go close to them..if t/v can keep their heads. ( save this till sept to see if i am rite!!)
