how long for sticks ??

Postby bayman » Sun Apr 30, 2006 11:06 pm

now what I KNOW is that sturt have no money, the players have no respect for the coach, atkinon & lennon are not spoken to by sticks (i presume its the same the other way) & its believed that sticks wouldn't step down so they're waiting out the year & as i told you either here or on safooty in jan/feb that b.atkinson WILL BE COACHING STURT NEXT YEAR

i have a theory that when sturt went top he took over a good side & most of that credit should be given to carmen & central had an off day as well
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

bayman, i dont know who you are or if you have friends in high places so i wont try and say you are full of shit ;)

all i want to see is the boys play the year out as hard as possible and win as many games as they can. Sticks will coach the year out, not saying that he wont be next year. I beleive Brodie was brought in to take over when sticks is done. Im not sure about the friction you speak of in the coaching ranks, ill have to go to someone in the know there, same with the players/coach relationship.

True, when sticks took over, we had tremendous depth in the A's and B's and a side ready to hit full stream. We had good younger players and excellent experience. We were just better on the day and good enough throughout the season to win 16 games, 1 less than centrals. On the day of the GF, Sturt were good enough to win. Simple as that.

PS: I dont know where the bays were then, probably at the grand like always ;)

Sticks said himself that this season will be his last regarless. Malcom Blight is on the cards next
But it was more than a victory for Greece. It was a stirring example to free people throughout the world of what a few brave men can accomplish once they refuse to submit to tyranny.

Hes a reformed man and a premiership player with Sturt. It was the last team he won a flag with and we have joined the NA pokie bandwagon now, so he will get paid good money if we appoint him

Guys, a couple of deletions, one of a post from a North supporter, one from a Sturt supportr as we don't need to re-hack either of those incidents and they're not even close to being about the original topic.
Cheers.

It seems a lot of Sturt's 'depth' issues are because of finances. They simply haven't got the funds of other pokie-rich clubs (though that should change before too long).

Considering what he's got to work with, I don't think Sticks has done such a bad job. Having said that, it'd still be no surprise to see someone else at the helm in 2007.

Absolute classic case of trolling there bayman.

The Sturt Football Club will not under any circumstance go down the path of soft footy clubs such as Glenelg and sack the senior coach mid-season.

Finances are a well publicised issue at Sturt but this will soon be rectified with a fantastic new facility at 166 Unley Road.

Bayman, for you to come out and suggest Sticks doesn't talk to his assistants is pretty ordinary. Make your way out to any training session, game or after match presentations and you will see otherwise. It is pretty well known that Phillips is likely to move on at season's end so no 'private detective of the year' award for you there champ.

My strong advise to you would be to concentrate on your own footy club and enjoy the relative successes that are coming at the minute as we all know it will be only a matter of time before the GFC find some way of imploding.

Yep, your club prefers to wait until the end of the year long after the writing has begun to fade on the wall and Glenelg has handed out a 10+ goal hiding to you in the last game for the year Keane (1988) and Davies (1989) before you terminate the coach.

History showed what happened to your club when you dithered on your coaching appointments.....

Keep sitting on those hands MST and let the cancer spread
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Or you could be like Glenelg and interview for the top three options for coach so you can call up numbers 2 or 3 mid-season.
We used to be good :-(
