North vs Centrals this week

Postby Jimmy » Mon May 01, 2006 11:50 am

Gonna be an absolute cracker of a game.

If Schell and Cowan play then it will be a real shootout.

But i think North will win and put another nail in the coffin of the dogs dynasty (this doenst mean im writing them off just yet....but its getting close).

Who do you think will win?

What are the changes for each team this week? forced or unforced?

Obviously living in Sydney I am not close to the scene, but can anyone confirmed if Schell pulled up ok, if so he will be better for the run.......

How far is Cowan from plasying, he holds the key to the dogs forward structure.......

Other positives, O'Sullivan and Northsworthy getting better with each game, while Ware and McCabe will getter better with more match fitness.....

Memo to Laird

Start Thomas on the ball, need plenty of leg speed in the midfield and your best players around the footy

North have many injuries at the moment.

If the 2 teams played with a full list I would back North, but I would think Central would be start up favourites.

PS..I know Central also have injuries, but North's are the big guns.

I'll have a lazy pineapple on that $2.40

especially if Cowan and both of the Cochrane boys are back

North have recruited exceptionally well, have off field riches the other clubs can only dream of, have won every game this year despite a long injury list, have kicked a huge score in each game they've played, have a number of good forward options, a decent ruckman and great depth thanks to their junior program.

So anyone care to explain the anti-hype coming out of people like Drebin as to why North shoudn't be favourites, or at least equal with Port, this year? And don't give me that merde about Centrals, a team doesn't lose the majority of its entire on ball division and win the flag again in a hurry.

What gives?

I think with the 4 day break between game days and injury roster (ie Alleway, Coulter, Hargraves, Koops, Walker, etc - who would all be walkpups for a league spot) this will be the game North will drop.
Don't get me wrong, I agree with others that the official odds will have North as favs.
Hopefully Im wrong, I hope I am so both North and Port could be undefeated heading into a blockbuster at Prossie.

PS RM's definately not a drunk, he drinks bloody soft drinks at the pub lunches we have while I'm downing the pints of ale.

Im tipping North.

They have a bloke named Gill runnin around out there who is just branin it.

North do have injuries yet I see they have deeper depth than Centrals in the player ranks. North named M.Campbell on the bench for Sunday against Glenelg ( dont know if he started there ) that shows me depth - because I thought he was very good the week before and it would of been Ladhams that pushed him there.

Will Francou go back to Port ???
It is what it is !!!

I agree the likes of Bello and Arnott are extremely difficult to replace, but Thomas, Wilson and O'Sullivan have gone a long way to bridge this gap, also need to remember that both Cochrane bro's, Stienberner and Switala have all been injured and Ware is slowly gaining confidence with each outing....

The challenge for the dogs is to get everyone on the park fit before the season slips away, if they can do this they potentially have the following players to roatate theough the midfield and centre line, C Gowans, J Gowans, Thomas, McCabe, Switala, Ware, S Cochrane, R Cochrane, Steinberner and O'Sullivan..., throw in Slade Northworthy and Wilson on the flanks

For me their is more then enough midfield depth to seriously challenge come finals time, the key is to get them all heathly sooner before later

I'm more concerned with the weather forecast. 8) Hopefully the rain doesn't eventuate and a big crowd turns up for what should be cracker game. This time around it might be a little bit closer then the two beltings at the middle and end of last year, although with tho lose of players and injuries at the moment it will probably be more akin to the result at Elizabeth which was also early season :( .

RM: Norths are the big guns(players inj)We have been without and still maybe without-S.Cochrane,L.Cowan,R.Cocrane,C.Gowans,N.Steinberner and A.Switala.A handy list of players dont you reckon and with limited depth I`d value these guys missing more so than the injured players of North.Take 5 of Norths best running players out and they may struggle to.Cant see the Doggies winning though, too many players just not match fit so it will be a struggle.

My mail is that we will not have Gill Friday night due to injury.

Centrals must start favourites.

Topsy waddaya mean "lose the majority of its entire on-ball division"? We have still got the Gowans, Slade, McCabe and steinberner (hopefully) and the rucks are the same. Plus a few handy new players who are getting better each week.
We used to be good :-(
