So the SANFL are happy to have players getting hit on top of the head when their head is down over the ball? Very poor decision this one. Deserved a couple of weeks. Cant have this in the game, but if the SANFL says its ok......

Yeah I'm surprised at this one too, Sporn and Howard of North Adelaide have a justifiable reasons to ask where's the consistancy following the decisions last year....

IMO my opinion their suspensions were justified so Fairclough should have got games too.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Is there any vision to compare all 3 because I am pretty sure Faircloughs was no where near as bad as the other 2.

EDIT
Faircloughs bump was so bad no 50 metre penalty was awarded.

Were 50 metere penalties given to all the above?
The SANFL appear to have problems with umpires knowing the rules etc .

Justified maybe although Sporn must be spewing, the Glenelg player slipped into Sporn (during a trial game too) and he got handed 2 games when he had never been reported in his entire career.

The Tribunal is a complete joke - it shows no consistency, seems to favour certain players and then hands out piss weak penalties - Gowans 3 games for his king hit (despite the retalitory factor) and Sporn gets two for an accident when another player slips into him in a trial game.

But why would I be suprised with the SANFL when you have a d*ckhead like Glenn Rosser as SANFL Operations Manager in charge at the top and answering to Whicker and Co. who do not give a rats arse about the local comp.

That would mean that Clayton is ineligible to win the Magarey? He would have been up there amongst the favourites, I'd have thought.

Or in other words mate, A REPEAT OFFENDER. He was reported for committing an offence, alleged or not, the umpire has put him in the book for an indescretion. Based on this mate, that makes him a REPEAT OFFENDER in my language, yes, an alleged no doubt, but still an offender...

I ALLEGE that you are just a whinging Eagles supporter who is frustrated with his teams performance.

As Micky suggested i was "trying" to be funny with the alleged comment.

For what its worth i was surprised to see Schwarze play last week, thought he may have got a game for the first report. As for last week i wasn't surprised to see that he didnt get a penalty.

Cant argue with any of the other points you raised re consistency, policing of the rules and the recording of games, i know all League and Reserves matches are recorded now and believe that 19's and 17's matches are also. It may have been this video evidence that resulted in Schwarze being cleared, the downside of the video evidence is that unless the game is covered by the ABC there is only one camera angle available and it may be inconclusive.

So am I allegedly a whinging Eagles supporter frustrated with the team's performance?
Frustrated - You bet i am, Whinger - i would like to think not.
I hope you would be frustrated if the Dogs were in the same position as we are at the moment.

Hey Columbo,

Yeah you are right, on a couple of points...

It was wrong of me to call you a smart a***e, sorry mate, I know you were just being funny...

I totally agree with the 1 camera angle point, like I mentioned, it has a lot to do with the financial situation of the comp. Of course, unlike the AFL we don't have the power of media control and I think the clubs that don't have their game covered on the ABC independantly outscource the recording of their games. It is purely for their match review process and player education.

Naturally, the clubs aren't going to get 3 or 4 camerman to cover ALL the angles just in case their is a behind the scenes incident. It does beg the question though of the poor tribunal system the SANFL apply to incidents. I don't think there is a short term answer, and although many other people agree with my sentiments, we are just going to have to put up with an inconsistant system for a little while to come...

I can understand your frustration with your boys performances to date mate, we all go through it at some times. I seem to get the impression the Eags have not gelled as a team yet and have struggled to put a consistant 4 quarter team effort together. I know you guys have had a few key personel out, so hopefully for your sake, improvement is on the horizon. I reckon you will pump the Redlegs tonight and get a little bit of momentum to the start of the season...

Now come on Constance, I'm just giving you my opinion... !!!??

I think, like I mentioned, the Eagles haven't really got out of first gear yet and they do still have a few talented players in their side...

That's not to say that your boys don't, I just reckon you might be a little bit exposed down back tonight and I'm sure you'd agree, Norwood have struggled to kick effective winning scores (bar the Westies game maybe) for a little while now... :?

I was probably a bit over the top with the "pump" sentiment, I think it should be a close game, just reckon Ronnie Fuller's boys will have a bit too much strength on the night...

No doubt, if I'm wrong, I look forward to you "rubbing it in" to me later on this evening !!!

All I know is that I reckon the Doggies are winners this weekend, against the bye, gives a chance to get a few sore boys fresh and raring to go against Wedgie's mob on ANZAC Day next week.

I think Rocky Roberts was still playing the last time that happened regularly

All fair and reasonable thoughts and comments mate ... Naturally my loyalty hopes we can find a win tonight, but the realistic side is pretty spot on with what you've said there unfortunately.

Yeah, you might be right with the Rocky comments there mate... ???

I think that if the Norwood which showed up for the first half against us Doggies last week, decide to play for the entire game, you will be a chance to get up tonight. I reckon Vlatko is a quality forward but he's not going to be effective without good delivery from the midfield and needs help from guys like Bown, Aish, McDonnell and hopefully young Crow Rookie Taylor Walker. I really rate him, from the couple of times I've seen him and reckon the kid can definately play. :)

If you can fire in the middle, your defence stands up and you can some how kick a winning score, then obviously you're a long way to winning the game . I just reckon someone like Adam Cockshell really needs to stand up and play a blinder. At his best, he has shown that he can play, with a couple of AFL games for the Power under his belt. I just think he can be domininant enough in the air to really have an effect but he hasn't shown that yet, in my opinion. I've seen a fair bit of him and reckon he does have a bit of an issue with consistancy and doesn't have the greatest kick in the team. :?

Also, with your depleted ruck stocks of late, he's been helping out Tyrell in the middle there hasn't he ? I still find it a little interesting to see Chad Gibson playing in the reserves, he's a big boy with a big kick and I reckon he can play. Also, what's happened to Barta of late. I know he's playing ressies, but the seems to have lost passion for footy maybe ? Would have thought that at his best, he is in your best 21. Is he carrying an injury or something ???

Anyway, I kind of do hope you boys get up tonight as it would be good to see the Eagles on the bottom of the ladder @ 0-4 !!!? They would be asking for Ronnies head if that was the case ??None the less, it will be an interesting night and I might even wonder down for a bit of a look myself as I only live about 500 metres up the road from Coopers Stadium... ???

Verdict: Woodville West Torrens by 12 pts (Passador to kick 7, Walker to kick 5 and Ben Schwarze to get reported AGAIN !?)
