bazzw wrote:Yes sprinter sounds like Bridgy are up to their usual tactics of going at the man. The HFL would want to have experienced umpires selected for this match or it could get ugly as has been the case in previous years. Also ive heard a rumour that one central division club has already parted ways with their coach.

bazz, do tell. or even a hint as to what part of the hills this club is located.

The coach was in his first year at the club. That should narrow it down. JustQuietly its interesting to note that a club umpire is named to officiate in the Mt Lofty v Bridgewater B grade match.

sorry that clue didnt give much because there are several coaches in their first year at their respective clubs. My mail is that Alan Stringer and Onka Valley have parted ways.

Bazz - interesting. Know which club? Not one from each?

And my $$ would definitely be on Stringer.

JQ the umpire would be from bridgy i would think. Interesting that Stringer and onkas have split seeing as were only 3 games in. Discipline has always been a problem at onkas, maybe they just werent keen on his style of coaching. Disappointing that one.

I think Alan was aware of certain "issues" at Onkas (not that I know the man personally) but I'm sure there would have been other reasons for his departure.

Not the longest stint.
Surely something like major player unrest would have had something to do with it. You can't just judge on results from 3 games. This isn't the Premier League...

I heard that Stringer was driving players out of the club, the blokes that just want to have a kick in the B grade. So is their any word on who will take over the coaching role?

Have not heard from Hillsrider for a while.
His coaching position for this year must be taking up too much time.

Gee, pretty tough at Onkas. A. Stringer regarded as very good coach and has a very good record re premierships. While his ways may not always agree with everyone, they appear to get results. Obviously the Doggies once again found to be a bit 'sooky' with reports of a few guys bailing out. Got a bit hot in the kitchen, resulting in the 'chef' deciding the gig wasn't for him. That adds to the Troy Bond fiasco of a couple of years ago. Thought Thommo and Phil Heinrich did a reasonable job last year, 2nd after minor rounds, but obviously didn't want to continue the tenure. Doesn't that add up to a common factor - the players. May be they ought to put a few more mirrors in the clubrooms for a real soul search. Still Barry Schoell has a good footy background and may well do a good job - hopefully he doesn't upset the players! If he fails what next - have to get Collo back from Prospect?
