another person from India way

come to the back fence as we were under carport, trying to get us to change from Origin to another company - tru blu i think it may have been.

you save between 4 and 7% on your last bill by switching.

i asked how much $$$$ would i have saved on my last bill??

he couldnt answer and was waving his finger in my face, i told him he knew everything else about my account why couldnt he work out how much $$$$$$ id save.

he told me the company id switch to service the local area in gas and when you pay your bill they get the money. i told him we pay our provider and whatever they do with the cash is there business not ours, we havent had any problems with service so why change?????

he walked off, got on his phone, came back and apologised, i told him it wasnt a good idea to wave your finger in someones face and tell them they're wrong!!!!!!

Has any of you tried putting your names on the no-call register?

It's worked wonders for us. No more calls from India, no more telemarketing of any sort. We have still had an occasional charity call us; I politely listen to their spiel and then tell them I prefer to donate to charities which don't use the telephone to solicit donations.

Have done exactly the same, with exactly the same results. Blissful silence at dinner times (aside from the kids all trying to tell me about their day all at once, of course).

I just have a silent number on the land line. Nobody calls if I don't give it to them.
I give businesses my mobile and turn it off after 5pm, and on when I feel like it in the morning. I shut it off during the day when I don't want to be bothered too.

what is the shoes on the other foot.... customer comes in says i will buy that car for $20K and signs a contract of sale .. i accept offer and congratulate him .. 4 mins after he says oh i want to talk to my parents ( who are with him) he was 21..
then he wants out cos he said he was tricked .. he was the one that blabbed ill pay 20K and i will sign and he did ...

so its quite easy to critise salespeople more often the customer lies !!! but yes there are some stupid salespeople out there ... no i dont work for metro holden .. lol
