how was it not a no race???

saxons back was probably 5 in front and pulled up at the catching pen the 1st time around..... the lure shot away according to the bloke on sky and the race caller, the rest of the dogs more or less stopped behind him, the only dog that kept going was the 1 at a miillion/1 and it won the race.

fair dinkum arent the stewards supposed to be looking after punters?

the race caller even rang the stewards on air and asked them if they were going to look at what happened!!!

how this was declared a race is a bloody disgrace and i'm pulling the pin on sa dogs..... not happy jan

I happened to flick over and I actually watched this race....

The evidence they showed on Sky was inconclusive, but it looked from what I saw that the dog just decided to pull up in the catching pen... He turned right instead of left on the turn out of the straight and I think it's as simple as that...

The lure shot away because the dog 5 clear pulled up, which probably made it look really bad...

Don't know all the rules of dog racing, but it didn't seem that bad to me

I wasnt there and didnt watch the race at all so was just wondering what happened.

I actually won the race i believe it was 50/50 call by the stewards the lure was in the right position when saxon just stopped (he has done it before) because they stacked up the lure got a long way infront im happy they called it a race obviously

Was Saxon the dog that pulled up in a solo trial at the Meadows a few months back?
If so then YES there has to be a genuine concern that he has done the exact same thing again all be it in a race this time.

Also didnt Saxonator (i think i got that right) do exactly the same. As have a few from the same bloodlines?

Yeah I saw it, I was on the second dog which got severly hampered in the scrimmage....

I think the dog just pulled up and went to the outside and cause it was leading nearly all the field behind it got checked, except for the winner, while i was shitty for losing and thought it would be a no race, the replay seemed to show it was the dog not the lure as you coudl see the lure when he started to pull up...

He got 28 days (i think) for FTP in the stewards trial at the meadows because it was an official trial.
This will now be his 2nd FTP.

The rule is there its just the different interpratations that are the problem in SA.
