Take nothing away from Centrals who didn't let us get into the game at any stage because Centrals have the mental edge over North and we just get intimidated out of the game then get pushed aside like soft little first gamers - will we ever learn when we play them!

No matter how much we recruited, our money couldn't buy what we really need - a steely resolve that the dogs have developed and put them where they are. The big test for North will be to maintain it's sport in the 5 let alone worrying about the double chance this year because the way the comps shaping and with our injuries - we may well slip out over the next 4 games and if anyone says otherwise then they are on drugs!. The proof as their tonite for all to see!

God help us next week against Port!!!

I would like to say North prove me wrong but our injuries are not going to allow us a fair chance at this stage. :(

P.S. Now let me hear a Centrals supporter tell me their injury list from Round 1 to now hurt them more than North's?

who else got injured drebin??

and dont take the soft option that you guys have given shit to others about for years!!!!!!

What soft option Jimmy? - we are talking about North not Sturt!!!

Go and read my post on the Roost re our injuries but to added to the already big list tonight are Wintle, Brett White and Younie plus Francou and we had Gill (who never got a touch in the first half and played loose in defence in the 2nd) and Weatherley (who sat on the bench for all of the first half bar 5 minutes near half time) both playing with injuries.

Good enough for you!

Well I modified my response slightly so we are square now! It was still juvenile and un called for and after watching the game tonight won't take much for me too bite. So if you want to make it personal then go ahead!

Fair call - I'll give you that - just got me at the point of being pissed off not so much our injury woes but how we didn't give a yelp (pardon the pun!) and at the end of the day winners are grinners and the rest of us can please ourselves!

Geez - I'm sick of getting thrashed by Centrals and just when we looked like we had turned a corner?

I thought all week that Centrals could take advantage of a slightly weakened North, but I never believed they could do it to the margin they did tonight. I was thinking something a little more in between 10 and 20 points.

I was pretty shocked, really.

:finga: I always thought they were thumbs up. Obviously I was wrong.

Looking at players used at league level this year...

Eagles - 34
Central - 31
Sturt - 28
West - 27
Norwood - 26
Port - 26
North - 25
Glenelg - 24
South - 24

North's depth has not been tested too much as of yet. You would have thought with winning everything else last year the depth would be fine.

I think if North palyed with a bit more desire and pride the margin may have been smaller but we couldn't even do that! The next few weeks will be very interesting for our club as we are starting to slide and I cannot see how we can cover the injuries and the defensive problems that Centrals really exposed tonight. Doesn't help whern you get smashed out of the centre all night either!

I haven't made any excuses and don't plan to but Aerie, those stats can be extremely misleading if you take into account AFL players and especially which players have been lost. Hypothetically speaking a team losing their 15th best player to 22nd best player aren't going to be as tested as a club that loses their 2nd best player to 8th best player if you get my gist.

At least you weren't the rocket scientist on the scoreboard hill that took aim at all North supporters after the game tonight. Good on him though. He made me feel better. We lost. Got beaten by a better, more focussed and hungrier side. Still thanks to the gentleman  on the hill i as left feeling good that regardeless there is at least one person in the world less fortunate than me.

Please note this is not a dig at Central supporters. I don't have a problem with Central supporters. Most are fine but if North had won and one of our supporters had been carrying on like that i would be embarrassed.

Anyway, well done Central. A lesson in hard aggressive footy was taught tonight and personally i hope North took notes.
