Trotter best for the Legs, with Vlatko and Walker terrific up forward. Together they could combine to form a very good partnership up forward.

Disappointing loss as we played some top football at times but whenever we closed the gap the Eagles managed to kick a goal and extend the gap.

Passador, with the delivery of his midfielders, killed us.

Well, that was kind of a weight off the shoulders - to at least get one win on the board. The signs that we are on the improve are there now, coincedently when Passador and Symmons are back in the team. That is not to say that they were the difference, because Powell, Jarrad and others contributed well, too. Travis Lane I thought did well last week; well the more I see him in the forward line, the more I am impressed. Very smart player, and might be the answer to the departure of Lomas.

Both sides at times looked to have some linking going - more so with Norwood through handball, but I thought that we were the more decisive team on the night. Norwood seemed to at times not know what to do with the ball, or over do it with handball. Then the undiscipline came into it to seal the match.

And it was great to finally meet cd, and also columbo as well. :)

Are you kidding me NFC were you at the same game tonight mate. When did Norwood ever play top footy tonight. The Eagles were never troubled at any time tonight. You were thoroughly outclassed by a better side. I'm waiting for the excuses about umpiring like all all the other legs fans at coopers tonight.

That score of 21.10 (136) is Eagles highest score against Norwood. Previously was 18.16 (124) in Round 16 1993 at Woodville. The previous highest score at Norwood was 17.16 (118) in Round 17 of last year.

The 1st quarter score of 8.2 (50) is also a club record against Norwood for that quarter, beating the 7.1 (43) scored in Round 12 2006.

The three quarter time score of 16.8 (104) is the club equal highest against Norwood. 15.14 (104) was scored in Round 20 2006.

I thought Norwood looked good at times, some nice passages of play, but we were the better side overall.

Trotter delivering lace out to the forwards was good football IMO.

We played some shocking football but at the same time we did play some good footy too.

More bad football than good. I don't know that I'd label it shocking though. Geez some of your fans in The Parade grandstand have a habit of turning on your own players in troubled times. Still the better side won in the end .

No doubt, thought you guys played very well. Your skill level was top notch and your teammwork was great, some superb link work through the middle and your defensive pressure was first class. Hard to believe you hadn't won a game prior to tonight. As for Norwood, yes more bad than good, but trust me, the "good" I speak of was mainly due to how bad we've played for most of the year.

Don't tend to take too much attention of opposition players unless A. they stand out or B. I'm paying close attention to someone.

I thought Passador was your best, but he got great service from your midfield, who they were I'm not sure.

For Norwood Trotter was best, with Vlats and Walker rounding out the top 3.

Never troubled??? Deserving winners no doubt, but I reckon you're kidding yourself mate.

Eagles were clearly the better team tonight (although I'd argue that the final result was indicative of the marrgin) but you were only playing Norwood, and you'll need to improve again against the decent teams imho

Yeah if Walker had goaled in the 3rd term the margin would've been a goal. Hardly never troubled.

Yeah I'll have something to say about the umpiring, it was deplorable. Whilst the Eagles outplayed us with their run out of defence and the hitting of targets in the forward line, one cannot overlook the seven, yes seven shots at goal from free kicks. Interesting to note an apology (of sorts) from one of the field umpires to several Norwood players after an Eagles "handball" when they ran into an open goal in Q2. Handballing with one arm pinned is pure genius.

But regardless, the Eagles proved they're still around the mark whilst missing their champions. The same amount of scoring shots once again tells a story of Norwood kicking way too wide into the pockets for shots at goal. Eagles did the same early on but just couldn't miss! Was it 10.2 at one stage??

Norwood seem to have a terrible habit of playing sides back into form.

Gee EHL one win and you start "crowing" over a victory against a side that despite its proud and successful past has struggled over the last three years....

Talk it up if you want but I think I prefer Spellys response to the win....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

One thing with Fuller is you never see him winge about injuries when he could easly do so.
The Eagles have had plenty of them & theres alot of experience playing in the Bs, when these players return to the As we should see a rapid improvement in the side.
Trotter last night showed his worth for Norwood, he'll get better each game providing he keeps injury free, which should see the Legs improve.

Well finally a win :D
Lets start by saying it was great to win a game .Lets be thankful we played a team that could not, and did not for most of the game man up .How a coach of a sanfl league team could not get his players to man up is a big joke . And handball happy is an understatement. It looked sitting in the stands like it was an Eagles home game the way the EAGLEs played Norwood gehtto oopss i mean oval  .
Was very nice to watch the youngsters play well Mackie, Daveron etc.
WWT played some very attacking football last night and it was great to watch Groecke through himself into packs to try and take marks .Well done inspiring stuff.
Now after last weeks game I said Luke Jarrad was lucky to be in the team .Last night he improved greatly one smoother in particular in Norwoods forward line was fantastic .

Lets have a look at some posts already in this topic

Lets look at is this way .Norwood got to the ball second and some frees were from clumsy stuff like falling onto Passadors back after Passador fell onto the ground .Silly school boy football mistakes.
I see rsemmler you didn't mention number 22 and number 13 from your side while talking about the umpires.Fancy hitting the other teams players in the head in front of any umpire .That's right that's what started Norwoods backline imploding and helping the EAGLES kick away in the final term.
And you didnt mention the mark Passador took in the pocket and all the umpire could say was play on goes both ways rsemmler.

quote "Eagle has landed
Geez some of your fans in The Parade grandstand have a habit of turning on your own players in troubled times."
Yes EHL they were rather bad .The thing that started to get to me everytime or nearly everytime, the Norwood Fullback kicked out this twit kept yelling."That's right everyone is now covered "and everytime he yelled that the fullback found a free a player.Or "Don't zone defence man up"
Then himself and the lady with him would rubbish the Norwood players.
Once the game was gone the same old crap came out the mouths of these fans. You know the merged team shit and your centrals BITCHES.
Funny Norwood seem to be the EAGLES BITCHES BOYS.

So at the end of the game the EAGLES won .straight kicking helped WWT never ran away with the game and just seemed to keep Norwood at bay .With the help of two extra players 22 and 13 WWT kicked two extra goals  .which helped with percentage.
