omg it's a small world...almost

Postby JAS » Sat Apr 19, 2008 6:24 am

I've just had a call from a mate who works at the Culloden Battlefield Visitor Centre to tell me that today an Aussie guy walked in wearing a rugby/polo style shirt with SANFL written across it  She pounced (poor sod) and said she knew it was Aussie Rules   ...he naturally enough got a bit of a shock and asked how? and she told him her mate supports the Redlegs. Apparently he looked fit to faint...unfortunately this was when she got called away and didn't get the chance to ask what his team is.

So...any of you lot in a remote part of North East Scotland yesterday afternoon ??? :D :D :D

I got a response when I went for a jog around Paisley a few years back - was wearing one of my dogs premiership t-shirts and got a UUUUU-DOOOOOOOOOOGS chant out of a fellow traveller who saw me.

It is indeed a small world.

yeah that a great story..............

its always funny how you can find a footy fan just about anywhere.....i was on holidays a few years ago in Singapore, and every pub i went past was advertising live coverage of the AFL final series and i reckon i saw more supporters wearing their team gear in that week than i had done in the whole season back in oz.........but it was great to see...!!!

I've got a bit of a 'Power on tour' and my local footy club 'Devil on tour' thing going where I've been getting a pic with the jumpers in front of the major tourist sites.

Almost every time I put the Power guernsey on, there's some smartass on hand to remind me how much we lost last year's GF by.

Random comments:

At the Eiffel Tower : 'Go you Swanies'
At Fulham FC : 'Go the Dockers'
On Australia Day - I had to take it off due to the constant abuse. Fair enough I guess!

The worst thing is when o/s when talking about where you live and saying Adelaide their next response is ohh your a Crow supporter. FFS people there is more than 1 team in football to support. Mind you when you give Glenelg as a response the blank stare is very funny.

Don't worry Troy you probably wouldn't get blank stares up here but people might think you talk funny for someone who lives by a cattle crossing
